Chapter 19

The doctors were currently asking me things I couldn't answer since I wasn't her guardian, and I called the Parkers which went straight to voicemail, over 2 hours ago. Ava has a concussion, so she is unconscious from that, and blood loss.

Her blood that stained my hands, which I forgot to wash.

The bullet didn't go through, so they now have to take it out. But Shawn or Janet has to sign forms which were important if the operation were to commence. Dr. Williams could have signed them too, but he ran away somewhere.

Aren't adult supposed to be, I don't know, responsible?

A doctor came up to me.

"Ms. Parker, we are going through the operation, since not doing it could risk infection or death. The police are going to ask you some questions, so that should keep you distracted." He said.

"Thank you Doctor..."

"Rodriguez. Dr. Rodriguez." He said with a smile.

"Thank you, Dr. Rodriguez." I said, trying to make my face smile, but clearly failed by his expression afterwards.

"Thank you for your cooperation." He said, walking away to the ICU to probably move her to the Operation Room.

I walk outside, blow on my fingers since they were becoming numb to the cold.

"Ms. Parker, I need to ask you some questions if you don't mind." He asked, looking a little scared. Is it his first case? He looked like he was in his 50's, so probably not.

"Go on." I said.

"Did you get a clear view of the shooter?"

"Not really, since I almost got shot, and my sister got shot too. Sorry that it wasn't my top priority." I knew I was acting like a brat, but it's been a long day.

"Uh, how about I ask the questions tomorrow, after a good night sleep, and. I will be saf-, I mean, well rested?" He said nervously.

"If you are tired, then why did you call for me?" I ask.

"Call for you? I didn't call for you." He said with a confused face.

"What? Then Why did Mr. Rodriguez say—" I say, but then I realized, the doctor looked familiar...

"Who?"

"Never mind. I will be going to my sister now." I said, walking away from him and walked towards the hospital.

Inside the hospital, I rushed to the nearest nurse I could find.

"Excuse me, is there a Doctor Rodriguez here?"

"No, may I ask why?"

"Uh, no reason. Thanks."

So, I either hallucinated a guy out of no where, or...

Ava is in danger.

I run to her room, and she wasn't there. I asked the doctors, and she wasn't going to the Operation Room until someone signed her forms. Which means...

My sister got kidnapped.

A/N: so this is a medium size chapter, which is okay. Right? Anyways, no one is who they seem to be, everybody has secrets, and I will be the only one to know, until I decide that you find out.
