Kristin Percxio/Kristin Parker

Ava was back. She was finally back.

Well, kind of.

News vans surrounded our house, trying to interview her. I had to go out the back door and go into our neighbor's lawn to avoid them. However, that wasn't the case for all of us.

Ava works from home, so she doesn't need to go outside. But Caroline has been showing off her makeup and dresses which made some of the reporters give up. Jane has been bragging but she gets caught by her friends about the real reason they are there. Shawn punched one of the reporters, but he didn't get arrested because of the witnesses who were his friends.

And me? It just got more attention on me. More than the first day of school, which I thought was impossible.

"Jeez, Kristin could take over the whole world at this point." Some of the boys joked.

"It's obviously cause she is insanely pretty and kind." Natasha said, with some of her friends nodding along with her. I smiled at them, which made one of the boys to pretend faint.

"You're just jealous that she is getting so much attention, and she is so pretty that not only is she in your league, she is in a whole different planet. Natasha said, which made some of the girls giggle. Only if they knew how true that was.

"Or maybe, its cause she got exposed for something, and her precious parents are covering it up. But they couldn't work hard enough, 'cause they have nothing." Said a snobby voice. Ah, Jessica.

This has been going on through out the whole day. I finally snap.

"Jessica, my parents are dead. Shawn and Jane wouldn't do anything for me. They force me to do everything. And there is a lot that there could be exposed about me, but its nobody's business. So leave me alone." I say, and then I see a teacher walk towards us. Dr. Williams.

And right when Jessica saw him, she started crying. And if I said she was a bad actress, that would be a HUGE understatement.

"Uh, Jessica. Stop fake crying." Dr. Williams said, which made Jessica huff and run away because everyone started laughing and I was smirking.

"Thank you, Dr. Williams." I said, which made the students whisper. I swear sometimes they are so insufferable...

"Of course. Have you thought of complaining to the Principal?" He said.

"You mean her aunt?" I said with a dry chuckle.

"What?" He said, who clearly did not know about this.

"That's why she hasn't been expelled. Jessica bullies almost all the students, but if we complain, it falls to deaf ears."

"Ah, good to know." He said, deep in thought.

"So, why are you here?" I ask.

"Oh, could you come to my classroom after school? We need to um, discuss grades." He said, which made the whispering louder.

"And the doors will be open." He added.

"Sure." I said, and walked away.

—|Time skip to end of school|—

"So, what did you want to talk about?" I say.

"Well, about the fact that I said I am a survivor of the destruction of Faltor, and you did not react. At all." He said with a confused face.

"I have always felt lonely, except when I was at the house with Ava cause I guess I felt comfortable with her, and she is of Faltor origin. I felt the same way about you, so I really wasn't surprised."

"So you feel comfortable with aliens, not humans?" He asked.

"Not necessarily, since I feel comfortable with Natasha, and kinda trust Ken."

"Does that mean you trust me?" He said.

"I guess yeah." I said reluctantly. I could have sworn that I saw a hint of a smirk on his face.
