TW: BLOOD, WOUND, CUTTING OFF LIMB?
Clasfier/Unknown
After a long day of grueling paperwork, and meetings that were mundane at best with the Court and condemning creatures which had gotten lucky in getting controlled by a shadow to the shadows, them either being toys, or food.
Isalieus, the previous messenger of the late Imperial Family of Voanerth was among them. I then made up a lie that the Mistress herself wanted him for herself, and the shadows believed me.
"And the General perseveres, which means your plans failed." The Mistress said, and she would have a smug smile if she could.
"I just miscalculated." I said, fully expecting her outburst.
"Miscalculated?! Your soldier may still have feeling even though he saw his emotions, and the girl and the General have learned to cooperate and work efficiently, which would make them even more powerful!!!" She had never been so angry before, angry enough to actually make her ears and nose bleed. She saw the blood drip on the floor, and sensed my pain, which made both of us wince.
"If you would have just talked to me, then we would be much closer to my— OUR goal." She was right, and she clearly can anticipate the future better than me.
"Fine." I say reluctantly.
"Finally! Now, I will go formulate a plan, which you will not know about until it starts. Just like how you treated me."She says.
"Alright. Fair enough. Now can I please go to sleep?" I ask, already tired out of my mind.
"Not yet. Don't tell me you forgot darling!" She said, with her saccharine voice.
"Of course not Mistress." I say. Of course I wouldn't forget about the fact that you make me chop my hand of every week.
I get the The Oculus, Scimitar of Conquered Worlds, and bring it closer to my arm.
I could feel the gaze of the Mistress.
And I brought it down.
"YES! YES!!! BRING IT TO THE MACHINE!" She said while I writhed in pain. She never felt any pain. I finally summoned all my strength, and threw my hand to the machine, minced it into tiny pieces and melted it.
"Why do you make me cut of my arm every week?"
"'Cause darling, I can't always be dependent on you, so I'm making my own body!" She said, with glee in her voice.
"B- But shadows ca- can't have their own bodies!" I yell, very taken aback by her response.
"They can now. Or at least, later they will. Why do you think that I was the shadow that helped you become the Empress? Because I have enough strength to embrace my new body, and only the flesh of the wielder of the Oculus can make it." She said.
My plans are in danger. I can only make them happen if I am the Empress. Without the Mistress, I will have no power.
