John Williams/Tah-En-Sacri
Since all of my energy was drained to make the healing potion I finally had enough to get up and go to the group huddle, since all of my energy was drained to make the healing potion.
Thankfully, I entered at the right time.
"Your planning to revive Faltor?" I said, which made everyone look at me, but my gaze was locked with Ava's.
"It's time anyways." She said, not willing to budge from that idea.
"Your reasoning is "It's time anyways."? Faltor is destroyed—"
"Faltor can't be destroyed when her Queen and soldier is alive.
"It can when the planet is destroyed!" Kristin yelled out; her eyes glassy at the mention of Faltor.
"Look. I know you get emotional when we speak about—" Ava tried to say, but Kristin cut in.
"Emotional? Really? Well, I'm sorry for getting 'emotional' when you talk about a moment when I saw all of people dying and calling for help while I just stood there. And I'm guessing that you were in the Imperial Office, trying to summon a spaceship to save only yourself." She paused to take in a breath as Ava's face lost all expression. But Kristin wasn't done, in fact, she continued.
"You took a spaceship that could have fit at least 30 civilians and pushed away that girl who begged for your help."
"It's not what you think—"
"Yeah. But I don't care." She said as she walked out without hesitation, which made everyone stare at Ava until she left. I decided to follow her, since it wouldn't hurt to get extra information since I had to talk with the Mistress anyway.
"I'm... gonna check on Kristin..." Isalieus, I presume, said and started walking towards the direction Kristin walked in.
Finally finding Ava, who was huddled in the corner of her room. Her gaze on the wall powerful enough to burn a hole through.
"Ava..." I said, which made her gaze soften and glance at me before putting her head between her knees.
"What do you want?" Her voice carried so much exhaustion and pain, which would be obvious since she hasn't healed from the wounds properly.
"You should be in bed resting, not glaring at the wall from here." I said with a small smile to lift the tension, but it didn't work.
"I don't deserve to be on the bed..."
"Who said you aren't?" Her head rose and our eyes locked.
"If you knew what I have done, then you would feel disgust while looking at me." She said, her eyes void of any life.
"But that's for me to decide, instead of you to assume." I retorted.
"I'm not assuming. I know it for a fact." She said with conviction.
"Unless you have proof, or you are a psychic, I don't know how that wouldn't be assuming." I argued back.
"Because that's how I feel about myself. It's how anybody would feel after they knew what I did. I can't believe I made myself forget it. I don't deserve—" I interrupt her by grabbing her shoulders which made her eyes widen since she knows I'm not fond of physical touch.
"Have I ever told you how I hate people who wallow in their self-pity? But the people who think they deserve nothing, are the ones I loathe." I said while clutching her shoulders harder and her eyes widened even more, to the point that maybe her eyeballs may just roll onto the floor. But I had no intention to stop and continued.
"Also, how about saying the story to the people who care about you instead of assuming their opinions?" I said with enthusiasm. She sighed, and finally she began her side of the story.
