Soon, summer was over and it was September 1st. Keira was looking forward to her new school year, she was ready to work hard and achieve the best grades she could in her NEWTs.

It was only her and her parents who went to the station seeing as Oliver had graduated last year. She said goodbye to her parents quickly before she spotted Lily making her way onto the train, Keira rushed past cross of people before she reached her, pulling her into a hug excitedly.

"I'm loving the new look, Lils!" Keira gushed over Lily's new look - black eyeliner and her natural curls were on show, she looked gorgeous.

"I thought I'd try something new out." Lily blushed, they got onto the train and looked in the compartments, looking for their friends as they chatted. Soon, they found the compartment that had Sirius, James, and Josie in it very easily since the two boys were making a lot of noise.

They all greeted each other, Keira sitting in between James and Josie. Soon, Remus, Peter, and Mary had found the rest of them, they all immediately started catching each other up on the rest of their summer.

"James, did you read your letter from Professor McGonagall?" Lily asked, James immediately looking confused, as did the rest of the group.

"Huh?" He asked.

"She said you got one too." Lily pulled out an opened letter from her bag.

"Well, I got one but I assumed it was just about the books and stuff we need," He shrugged, "I have it but I didn't open it 'cause I've got everything I need." He pulled it out from his bag, an unopened envelope.

"Open it!" Lily said excitedly, everyone watched intensely as James ripped open the envelope, pulling the letter out and reading it aloud.

"Dear Mr Potter, I am happy to inform you that you have been selected to be Head Boy- Head Boy?!" James exclaimed.

"No way!" Sirius shouted with a big smile on her face.

"I'm head Boy?" James asked rhetorically, a bit confused and shocked.

"Lily does that mean you're..." Keira gasped. Lily nodded her head excitedly, "Oh Merlin that's amazing!" Everyone congratulated the two on the new titles. Keira kissed James quickly, incredibly proud and happy for him.

"James, now that you're Head Boy and have more power than Prefect, can we revisit ,y suggestion of lifting the curfew rule?" Marlene asked.

"I'll see what I can do." James joked along with marlene, though there was a hint of seriousness in Marlene's question.

Josie and Keira sat at the Ravenclaw table that evening, watching the new first years getting sorted.

"Before we begin I'd like to welcome our new Head Boy and Head Girl, James Potter and Lily Evans." McGonagall announced to the Great Hall who gave an applause, Keira turned around smiling at James who smiled back at her.

Dumbledore then started to give his usual start-of-the-year speech. "It's cool that James got Head Boy." Josie whispered to Dumbledore, usually the younger years would be interested in the headteacher's speech and the older years would just zone it out, so where the two girls sat at the far end of the table, most of the others seventh and sixth years were also quietly talking to each other.

Keira nodded her head, smiling at Josie. Though, Josie kept looking at her expectantly, "What?" Keira asked, a quiet laugh on her lips.

"Were you hoping to get Head Girl?" Josie asked.

"It would've been cool, but I wasn't that invested in it." Keira shrugged.

"But you work really hard, you're top of most of your classes too."

"So does Lily. Anyway, I've got enough stuff to focus on this year, Head Girl would just be a bit of a distraction really." Josie nodded understanding Keira's reason, Dumbledore then finished up his speech and soon the food appeared on the table.

Keira filled her plate full of food, "James is convinced that I should be Minister of Magic." She said, Josie looked at her, her mouth full of food, with an expression of surprise with her eyebrows furrowed, "I know. I mean, it's sweet and all, but he spoke about it so casually like it's just an average job to do."

"To be fair he worships the ground you walk on, he literally thinks you're the smartest person in the world," Keira scoffed as she took a bite of her food, "He's not like pressuring it or anything, he's just being supportive of your career, which is good; imagine if he wanted you to be a house wife with the grades you have." The two girls laughed together.

"You're right... Maybe I should be the Minister?" Keira quirked an eyebrow up at Josie.

"Calm down, K, you're talking about that like it's an average job."

Keira lightly hit Josie's arm, "Shut up." She joked.

"Oh, by the way we're having a celebratory sleepover with the girls for Lily tonight. I forgot to tell you earlier." Josie added after laughing.

"Oh, fun." Keira smiled.

Eventually, dinner ended and the two Ravenclaws met the rest of their group to make their way to the Gryffindor Tower. Once in the common room, Keira bid James goodnight with a lengthy kiss which was interrupted by Sirius fake throwing up and then dragging James up to their dorm with Peter and Remus.

The five girls laid scattered around the Gryffindor girls' dorm room. Keira laid with Mary on her bed, a small bowl of sweets shared between the two. Everyone except for Keira were drinking a glass of firewhiskey, Keira settled for water saying that she wanted to keep a clear head for tomorrow's first day of classes.

"Josie what's going on with you and Henry?" Mary asked while eating some sweets.

Josie shrugged, "Not much, he was away with his family most of the holiday, but we wrote to each other a bunch."

"You two still taking it slow?" Lily asked.

"I guess. We're just kind of chilling, y'know?"

"I think that's good, especially since you two will be busy this year with NEWTs and all that, it's best to keep it simple so it doesn't get too complicated." Marlene said.

"Mars I think you and me are the only ones here who like unserious relationships." Josie laughed, the other girls did as Marlene let out a 'Woop!'.
