" Lately, I've been on a rollercoaster, tryna get a hold of my emotions, but all that I know is I need you close. "
"How was this morning?" Brad asked as they walked through the hallways of the Ministry on their way to the Auror Department. Him and Keira had just been on their lunch break and normally Bradley walked Keira back to her office, but not that day as Keira was on an assignment that needed her to work in the Auror Department for the day.
Keira sighed, "Fucking boring. We spent hours just talking about spells being taught in Auror training in different countries." She said as they entered his office.
"How about I bring dinner to yours to make you feel better?" Bradley said, putting his coat on the back of his chair.
Instantly, her fained expressed softened as she sat on the chair opposite, "Chinese?" She looked at him.
"Of course." He smiled, nodding his head.
"I've got James and Sirius this afternoon." Bradley said as he looked through his planner, stood at his desk. Keira nodded as she picked at her nails - a habit she'd had since she was young, "You alright?" Bradley asked as he watched her, noticing she didn't reply to him.
Keira looked up to him as she sat slumped in her chair, "I'm fine." She said bluntly.
Keira hadn't spoken to Lily and James since they told her about the pregnancy. Well, it was James who told her when they ran into each other in the Ministry, Keira sent Lily a letter that day congratulating her.
She was frustrated a bit that everyone got a special announcement and Lily couldn't even bother to send her a letter. She felt as if they were still walking on egg shells around her because of her past relationship with James. It made her feel like she was in Seventh Year again and everyone was treating her like glass because they were scared of what reaction she would have towards something. It made her feel weak and pathetic. It made her feel like she was that same girl, that girl who depended on drugs and intoxication to get through the day. That broken girl who was desperate for any kind of pleasure.
"Did I say something?" Bradley asked, confused as to why her demeanour had suddenly changed.
Keira walked over to his bookshelf, looking at his selection, "Fucks sake, no." She said turning around to see him. Bradley stood slightly shocked, she'd never acted like that before, he wasn't sure what made her be in a bad mood.
Keira sighed as she ran her hand through her short hair, glancing at the clock behind him, "I have to go." Quickly, she grabbed her bag from the floor next to her seat.
"Okay." Brad said quietly as he watched her leave. As she opened the door, James and Sirius was stood outside. Keira gave them a small smile before walking away quickly.
The two walked into Bradley's office slowly, "Is now a good time?" Sirius asked apprehensively, him and James sensing the couple's frustration, mainly because Keira had that specific pissed off look on her face as she left that the two knew well.
Bradley nodded as he shut his planner and grabbed his wand off his desk, "Yes, it's fine."
. . .
Keira sat on her sofa, mindlessly flicking through the channels on her TV. She wasn't paying attention to any of them, though, all she could think about was how she acted earlier that day with Bradley. She couldn't focus on any of her work for the rest of the day, but she didn't care about that, and she cared about was how bad she felt.
She felt like she was moving backwards. She was going back to her old ways of snapping at people for no good reason, but simply because she was feeling bad about herself and things that were going on with her. It wasn't Bradley's fault that she was in a bad mood.
