" I can easily understand how you could easily take my man, but you don't know what he means to me, Jolene ... I'm begging of you please don't take my man "

It had been a two months back at school. Keira had completely thrown herself into her schoolwork, spending as many hours of the day that she could studying in the Library. There was little time leftover for her friends and James, though, after a couple weeks of not seeing much of her outside class and watching her study, he set up weekly dates with her. Every Sunday afternoons they would spend time with each other, sometimes going to Hogsmeade or other times just hanging out in either one's dorm rooms.

However, after a solid month of their consistent meet ups, Keira had become even less available to James since she decided to sign up for tutoring lower years in History of Magic - It is one of her best subjects. But, this meant she had to reschedule her study sessions, coincidently, it usually ran into her Sunday afternoons.

James was understanding at first, but after the third week in a row of Keira cancelling on him, he was starting to get frustrated and quite hurt by her.

As he strolled into the Great Hall, his eyes scanned the room, quickly spotting Keira sat opposite a young Hufflepuff boy on the far right table. He watched as she spoke to the boy charismatically - he could tell she was explaining one of the stories taught in the subject, she always spoke so passionately when she told James about the history she had learnt in her lessons, acting them out as he watched her lovingly, admiring how excited she would get talking about the things she loved. She also spoke with her hands a lot.

As he walked down to where they were sat he could hear Keira speak; "Alright, that's it for today I think. You're really improving." She turned her head as he reached her, "James?"

"Hey." He smiled.

"See you next week, Andrew." Keira smiled at the boy, he mumbled a 'See You' in response before walking away, his books in his arms. Keira turned back around to James who placed his hands on her hips, pulling her closer. "What're you doing here?" She asked, a smile on her lips as she placed her hands on his chest.

"Thought I would catch you before dinner and see if you wanted to hang out. My dorm room is empty." James smirked. Keira glanced down biting her lip, then looked back up at him.

"I'd love to, J, but I have so much homework."

"Oh come on, you can miss just one day of studying!" Keira moved her hands down from his chest, his hands dropping from her hips as she stepped aside, grabbing her bag from the bench.

"I'll see you at dinner, though." She looked up at him hopefully as she put her bag on her shoulder.

"Yeah, but that's dinner," He followed as she started walking towards the exit, "We don't get a chance to actually speak to each other there."

"Well, blame Sirius, he's always insisting on sitting next to you." Keira spoke jokingly as they walked out of the Great Hall. James stopped her by moving quickly to stand in front of her, Keira sighed, expecting his complaints.

"Keira, please, I've barely seen you since we came back to school. Just one afternoon. That's all I ask." James picked up her hands, holding them in hers.

"James-" Keira sighed.

"Just one day." He interrupted her. She looked to the side as she sighed once again.

James was starting to get hopeful since she hadn't shot down his request quickly, "James I really can't. I have so much work and I can't let myself slip behind already." James let go of her hands, running one through his hair, trying his hardest to suppress his frustration. He didn't want a fight, especially not in front of the Great Hall full of people.
