" Forgetting him was like tryin' to know somebody you never met, but loving him was red. "

"What do you think, Josie," Marlene held up two bottles of nail polish, "Dark red or black?"

"Dark red." Josie pointed her finger to the red bottle, "Can you paint mine that after?"

"'Course." Marlene said, opening the bottle.

The girls were all doing their own separate thing, Marlene and Mary sat int he middle of the circular room on the floor, one painting their nails and the latter laid on her stomach, writing her Transfiguration essay.

Keira laid on Lily's bed, reading a book. Lily hummed as she clipped half of her hair back in a clip, a knock interrupting her as she got up and opened it.

"Oh hi." She said, a bit of a confused tone in her voice. The girls looked up to see who was at the door, Keira's heart rate picking up as she saw James at the door. The rest looking at her as well, knowing how awkward this probably was for them. Though, Josie was the only one who knew about the two's argument after the Halloween party.

"Yeah um, I'm going out with Sirius later but he's at Hogsmeade with Remus right now so I thought we'd walk together." James said.

Lily nodded, "Okay, one sec I just need to grab my scarf." Once Lily had moved away front he doorway and to her bed where Keira laid, James was able to see Keira. They held eye contact until Lily reached him, she quickly said goodbye to everyone and closed the door behind her.

There were many seconds of silence, all the girls watching Keira.

"Right, I'm off." Keira closed her book quickly and grabbed her school bag, slinging one of the straps over her shoulder.

"Keira are you okay?" Mary asked.

Keira twirled around, "Yeah, why wouldn't I be? They can do whatever they want, I don't care." Secretly, Keira cared. Of course she did, her best friend just left to hang out with her ex-boyfriend. Keira quickly left the dorm and planned on going to her own dorm, though she took a detour through the courtyard.

"Hey Keira." Thomas called her name, him and a group of his friends walking, he quietly told them he'd catch up as she jogged over to Keira.

"Hi Thomas." She gave him a forced smile, she wasn't exactly in the mood to have a chat with anyone.

"You alright? You looked a bit annoyed."

"I'm fine," She shook her head, "What's up?"

"Well me and a group of friends are meeting up tonight by the Black Lake. So if you want to come you're welcome."

"That sounds fun, I'll think about it, yeah?"

"Cool, also I'm supposed to ask you to bring your friend Marlene if you come, my friend met her at the party and has a little crush, though he won't admit it." Keira laughed.

"Yeah I'll ask her."

"Great, see you tonight!" He grinned, walking backwards. Keira laughed to herself at his happy grin before walking to Ravenclaw Tower.

. . .

"So what friend is it that has a crush on me?" Marlene asked as her and Keira walked through the halls of Hogwarts.

"I dunno, just look for someone who won't stop staring and that's them, I guess." Keira shrugged.

"Keira... Do you really think people won't be staring?" Marlene stopped walking, gesturing with her arms to her long, shaggy fur coat she had on.
