Ageing World

As kids we would play pretend

We'd imagine another land

Places where villains we'd apprehend

And others we'd just lend a hand

As teens we still had those places

Although slowly but surely we got agitated

We started to understand the horrors of the world

A burden was placed on our shoulders, as we tried to fix it the thoughts whirled

As adults we tried our best

Some of us forgot the mess

As we struggled to get by

The world would still cry

In our minds the whirlwind of regret and sadness raged

As we marched on in age

Now the reaper has taken us

Our burdens passed down

A sighing gust

A worried frown
