Shimmer

I find it funny how one thing can make the best mood, bad.

One minute happy, the next sad.

One minute you'll be smilin, so glad.

Then like a flick of a switch, you're mad.

Like magic we sparkle, now we're dim.

We were once a shining gem.

We still are, have always been.

We get tattered or tainted after a bit.

Others rip out our hearts, then leave them to sit.

Some come along and try to fix it,

polish us to health,

Wanting to use us just to get them wealth.

Rub, scratch, and chip us, without the right tools.

They do not listen or follow the rules.

Then along come a person who knows what to do,

They've been through the same that we have been through.

They are just like you.

They pick you up and polish every side.

Help with your troubles, you'll be fine.

So when you're ready to sail by yourself,

Slight pain, but perfect health.
