Those friends that you made

That you slowly lost track of overtime

Memories you shared start to fade

They are your leaves keep that in mind

They're there for a season then leave you behind

Friends you thought were there to hold you up

They snapped under pressure letting you fall

They left when you needed them, so abrupt

They are your branches, just stand tall

You are the trunk of your tree

You stand tall not on your knees

You are where the young ones to rest

Because of that you try your best

Don't be too kind it's a trap

From you they will take your sap

They'll cut you if you're too sweet

Make you bleed and take nectar that seeps

The people who are there for you when in need

Who help when your emotions they read

They hold you steady and don't back down

They are your roots holding you to the ground

Keep them close to you, always around

People who taught the most important lessons

Some hurt, some healed, made you who you are

They were your seeds, helped you go far

Teaching in sessions with expressions leading to confessions and obsessions

You may have had regressions to depressions but they were your lessons

For you are an oak mighty and strong

Maybe a book bound, but not wrong

You're there for others who teach others too

And when in need kids will look to you

So stay strong stay standing

You will be there for the helicopters landing
