I am death. I am here

The fluttering as light filtered through

Like fresh snow on the ground

Here comes another life, a new

As many gather round

But none dare to make a sound

I watched as you grew

As you pretended you flew

A smile on your face

A grin nothing could erase

The longer in this place

The harder it was to face

You grew tired and weak

Yet true happiness is all you would seek

You knew I was coming

You knew all along

Yet your heart is still strumming

Still so strong

I don't want to take what little you have

But if I do you still wouldn't be mad

With a smile on your face

You walk calmly to my embrace

Others mourn, oh so sad

But you look at me and you're glad

I want a friend even for a short while

With a gush of wind we walk a mile

I was here, I saw it all

I hear you as you call

What you've been through

What you've seen

They were rude

So obscene

You take my hand

As I lead you to the promise land

You were so tired but now you're at peace

So rest your head and go to sleep
