Lose somebody

Where did you go?

I don't wanna know.

Your smile haunts me to the edge.

I sit on a towering ledge,

in my mind.

Why is love so hard to find?!

Pain squeezes in my chest.

No sleep, nor rest.

Well, I hope you're happy, wherever you are.

We talked about death, why wasn't it far?

Your laugh that warmed me to the core.

Fading memories only make me miss you more.

Time so short, shorter than me.

You always seemed to fill me with glee.

I find myself thinking 'what comes after death?'

What happened when you drew your last breath?

Are you waiting for me in the promised land?

Or are you following, with me, lending a hand?

It's ok I keep the promise, live out my days.

Through the good, the bad, every phase.

And when I'm done, my legs gone weak,

And peaceful sleep is all I seek,

I'll go and find you with chin held high.

We'll finally be together, forever, in the sky.
