Guess who's back after a week without wifi! For some "odd" reason, lack of internet access made me spend my spare time daydreaming funny little scenarios for my book, though some of them are for after this portal closes.

We've got a bit of a time skip after the last chapter. Not a really long time, but just a couple days.

POV Scar

~~~
Has Scar been told before not to go exploring alone? Yes, yes he has. Has Scar once again forgotten that he has been told this multiple times by several different people? Now what could have given you that idea?
Currently off exploring a misty mountain range is one little ball of sunshine, wobbly shield spell at hand as he climbs along mountain paths that barely deserve that name. It feels like when someone pays a little too much attention to the aesthetic, and forgets to make it actually usable too.
He's humming a cheery little tune as he goes, not really paying attention as the slight mist clinging to the path thickens. In fact, it's not until he almost walks straight into a tree that he notices the thick mist obscuring his vision.
Looking back, he starts to get a bit worried when he realizes he can't see the path behind him either. Fumbling around in his inventory for a couple seconds, he got himself a torch, holding it up to reveal... Absolutely no change. The mist didn't care that he had a light, and if anything the extra light source only made visibility worse.
Well then, looks like he'll have to get a bit creative. Picking up a long stick he could barely see through the creeping mist, he started tapping it in front of him as he walked. It might not be the straightest stick, but it served well enough testing his path for obstacles or divots.
The path might be a bit more even than it was earlier, but there's still plenty of divots and roots to catch a foot on. The amount of embarrassment that would be involved if he twisted his ankle and needed to be carried back to base, not to mention the worried fussing from the rest of the Hermits... But he's still within signal range, and he's got an enderporter set up just in case something goes wrong.
Pushing forward, he eventually came to a small clearing that was clear of mist. It's definitely more than a little odd-looking, with a small pond being fed by a miniature waterfall and a straight up pool of lava on one side. Varying sizes of rocks and boulders are scattered across the grass, reminding him somewhat of Grian's base with their haphazard placement. Even just from looking briefly, he could see several different types of stone, including granite and diorite and maybe limestone? He's not a rock expert, and Minecraft doesn't exactly have an overabundance of rock types.
Getting closer to the little pond, he marveled at how remarkably clear the water was. Like, it's clearer than Minecraft's water, which is saying something. A soft chill permeates the air just above it, accompanied by that crisp fresh smell cold water has.
You know, even if he's not worried about running out, filling up a bottle or two with water would be nice. Yes, a water bucket could technically serve the same purpose, but drinking water from a bottle is more convenient, and he swears it tastes better that way.
Dipping an empty bottle down into the pond, he lifted it back up, going to stopper the... empty bottle? Turning it upside down, yeah the bottle's still empty. Did he somehow miss the water?
He tries again. This time, he's paying attention, so he can see the water refusing to enter the bottle. Even Minecraft physics don't have an explanation for this. Lifting the persistently empty bottle back up, he can see that not a drop of water had gone in, and his hand was actually dry.
