Xisuma's perspective

Before they left, Xisuma seemed to be rather alarmed by something. Whatever could it be? After all, it's not like he could have sensed a Watcher's magic, since there were none nearby, right?

Pushing past the crush of people clustering around the different portals, Xisuma found one that had only a few people eyeing it in a corner of the hub. Its aura felt clean, too, much like a forest after heavy rain. This one should do quite nicely. He called over several ex-gladiators who he knew would be more interested in creation than destruction, and watched as they weaved their way through the crowd along with some friends of theirs.

They gathered in front of him, calling out greetings as they did. Almost all of them had at least one extra person following along behind them, but as long as they didn't cause trouble it should be fine. He reached for his clipboard hanging at his waist, and walked over to get the names of each of the newcomers.

Most of those who had agreed to stick together were here, though a couple were still missing, those being Scar, Etho, and Pearl. Casting his gaze over the crowd, he caught a glimpse of Pearl shoving her way past people and making her way over in his direction. Only two left. He marked Pearl's presence on his clipboard, before getting distracted by someone excitedly calling his name.

"Xisuma!" called the missing showman, waving eagerly while dragging not one, not two, but six extra people along with him. How he managed to gather that many, Xisuma would never know, but they were here now and probably coming with the rest of them.

Speaking more out of relief and a desire for confirmation than anything else, he asked, "Scar? You're okay?"

"Why of course I am, would you expect anything less of a wondrous magician such as myself?"

Relaxing at the typical grandiose response, Xisuma smiled "Nah, should have known you'd make it out alright." He should have known that nothing short of the apocalypse itself could do more than mildly inconvenience the man.

"Mew!"

He looked at Scar in confusion, taking in the kitten sitting in the arms of the showman, before asking the question that immediately popped up. "Scar, when did you pick up a kitten?"

Before he could get a response, one of the bunch Scar had dragged over with him spoke up in confusion "Wait, you mean he didn't have it the entire time?"

Feeling even more confused than before, he started double checking his memories to see if he legitimately just missed Scar having a cat while saying "No, of course not. Where would he hide it when he has to go fight in the arena? Let's not even mention finding food for it-" before getting cut off by the person in question.

"I'm gonna name her Jellie!"

"...You know what, you do you, Scar."

Heaving a sigh at the antics of the kitten-holding source of optimism, Xisuma looked back down to his clipboard for a reminder of what he was doing, before looking back up to call out "Anyone seen Etho?" while searching the crowd with his gaze.

From somewhere across the room, he hears the ninja man call out "Over here!" as he makes his way in their direction.

Double checking the clipboard, he asks "Is that everyone?" General murmurs of agreement sounded from the gathered group, before Scar raised his hand, looking at him expectantly. Holding back a sigh, he knows what the question is going to be even before speaking. "Yes, Scar?"

"Can they come with? I promise they won't cause trouble!" There it was.

"Is there any particular reason you're vouching for them?" he asked, because if there's no reason other than 'I met them five minutes ago and they followed me' he was going to have to tell Scar no, and he would really rather avoid seeing the sad expression on the bubbly man's face.
