SLOWLY, I felt the weight of sleep lifting from my eyelids as I fluttered them open, allowing the soft morning light to gradually penetrate my vision. With a satisfying stretch, I extended my limbs, feeling the gentle pull of my muscles awakening. My eyes then turned towards Jurin, nestled in peaceful slumber, her arms wrapped tenderly around the pillow. The room was filled with the gentle melody of her soft snores, a sound that somehow brought warmth to the space.
A soft chuckle escaped my lips as I observed Jurin's endearing sleeping habits. "She really can't sleep without hugging something, cant she?" I mused to myself, finding joy in the little habit that made her unique.
Gradually, I rose from the comfort of sleep, my body adjusting to the new day. With purposeful steps, I made my way to the luggage, reaching for the essentials I needed before venturing into the bathroom. My hand found the grip of the toothbrush, and I carefully applied a small amount of toothpaste, savoring the cool minty freshness that enveloped my mouth. As I brushed, my gaze met the reflection of my disheveled hair in the mirror. Taking a moment, I ran my fingers through the unruly strands, attempting to tame them into some semblance of order.
Having completed my morning oral routine, I shed my sleepwear and stepped beneath the welcoming cascade of warm water in the shower. The sensation of the water droplets caressing my skin was heavenly, washing away any remnants of sleep and invigorating my senses. With closed eyes, I allowed the steam to envelop me, momentarily transporting me to a place of tranquility.
After a blissful moment, I reluctantly turned off the shower, feeling the last remnants of warmth trailing down my body. I reached for the towel, its soft fabric enveloping my wet skin as I gently pat myself dry. Wrapping it securely around my waist, I grabbed an additional small towel, draping it over my shoulders. With deliberate motions, I intermittently dried my hair, ridding it of any lingering moisture. The familiar ritual brought a sense of comfort and familiarity, preparing me for the day ahead.
Leaving the sanctuary of the bathroom, I intended to retrieve my clothes and complete my morning routine. However, as my eyes met Jurin's wide-awake gaze, a sudden realization dawned upon me, causing my eyes to widen in a slight panic. "Fuck, I completely forgot," I muttered under my breath, chastising myself for the oversight.
Jurin let out a startled shriek, quickly covering her face with the blanket, her reaction slightly exaggerated. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her theatrics. With a resigned sigh, I walked over to my luggage, swiftly retrieving the outfit I had chosen for the day before retreating into the bathroom for privacy.
Inside the familiar space, I exchanged the towel for my comfortable sweats and navy blue sweater, relishing in the softness and familiarity of the fabric against my skin. Taking a moment to ensure every droplet was banished from my hair, I meticulously dried it, my fingers gently combing through the damp strands. Satisfied with the result, I carefully placed the towel on the floor, mindful of keeping the room tidy.
Emerging from the bathroom, my intention of getting dressed was momentarily halted by Jurin's resolute expression. Her initial flustered demeanor had transformed into a determined resolve, and I couldn't help but notice the subtle shift. Her voice carried a firmness as she spoke, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness in our shared space.
"Pick it up. If we're sharing a room, we are going to keep it clean," she declared, her words laced with an unspoken expectation as she looked at me and then at the towel on the floor. Observing her unwavering stance, I couldn't help but wonder if she possessed a particular aversion to messiness, or perhaps there was a deeper reason behind her request. Regardless, I nodded in agreement, silently acknowledging the unspoken pact to maintain order and harmony in our temporary abode.
I scoffed, unable to resist a snarky comment. "Well, I guess someone here has a bit of a cleanliness fetish. Can't stand a single thing out of place, huh?" I remarked, my tone dripping with sarcasm.
Jurin shot me a sharp glare, her eyes narrowing in annoyance. "Don't be ridiculous. It's called basic hygiene and respect for the space we're sharing. Maybe if you weren't so oblivious and actually took responsibility for your own mess, we wouldn't have this problem," she retorted, her voice laced with frustration.
I rolled my eyes, deliberately taking my time to retrieve my scattered belongings from the floor. "Oh please, Miss Perfect, as if a couple of misplaced items are the end of the world," I replied, my voice dripping with disdain.
"Well, it might not be the end of the world, but it certainly reflects your lack of consideration for others," Jurin shot back, her voice edged with irritation. "I don't understand how someone can be so careless and disrespectful."
I huffed, crossing my arms defiantly. "Careless and disrespectful? Coming from Miss Clingy who can't even sleep without clutching a pillow like a child," I retorted, unable to resist a jab at her sleeping habits.
