WHEN I WOKE up the next morning, sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. I looked over to where Jungwon had slept on the floor, but he was already gone. His sleeping spot was tidy, the pillows and blankets neatly arranged as if he had never been there.

As I sat up, stretching my stiff muscles, I couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness. The silence in the room was deafening, the absence of Jungwon's presence left things a bit more peaceful.

As I hobbled with a slight limp toward the bathroom, a newfound determination surged within me, propelling me forward. Pushing open the door, I was taken aback by the sight of a shirtless Jungwon, vigorously brushing his teeth. The surprise caused me to stumble momentarily, but a strong grip around my waist steadied me. Our eyes locked as I realized he was holding me, a toothbrush still in his mouth.

Reacting quickly, I pushed him away, making room for myself. I grabbed my toothbrush and applied toothpaste, trying my best to ignore the shirtless man beside me. However, our shoulders kept brushing against each other, both of us vying for space in front of the small mirror.

While I brushed my teeth, using my free hand to fix my bangs, I felt his gaze upon me. Looking up, I found Jungwon staring at me intently. I raised my eyebrows in a questioning manner, attempting to appear intimidating. Suddenly, he reached out towards my hair, causing my eyes to widen in confusion. It was then that he revealed a piece of grass from the previous day when I had taken a fall.

"Take a shower, nasty," he muffled before kneeling to the sink, spitting out the toothpaste.

"I will, just get out," I retorted, pushing him away as he finished up. With my teeth freshly brushed, I left the bathroom to gather my clothes. Limping back, I locked the door behind me, undressed, and stepped into a warm, refreshing shower.

After the shower, I dried myself off and changed into a comfortable pair of pajamas. Today had been declared a free day, giving us the opportunity to explore or simply relax indoors. With my hair still slightly damp, I walked out of the room, catching sight of Jungwon preparing some food.

Curiosity piqued, I approached him, using the towel to dry my hair as I did so. I tippy-toed, Peering over his shoulder, I asked, "What are you making?"

"Ramen," Jungwon replied simply, continuing his culinary task.

"Could you add another pack?" I inquired, my gaze fixated on the tantalizing food, my mouth practically watering.

"Why?" he questioned in response.

"Because this won't be enough for both of us," I stated, pointing to the meager portion in front of us.

"Who said I was planning to share?" Jungwon teased, turning his attention towards me. His eyes widened as they traveled up and down my figure before a breathy chuckle escaped his lips, shaking his head in amusement.

"What... why are you laughing?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows, preparing myself for a potentially mean comment.

"You look cute in those pajamas," Jungwon remarked, catching me completely off guard. Startled, I choked on my saliva and coughed, struggling to regain my composure. He turned to me, eyebrows raised in confusion.

"Just... just add another pack, alright?" I mumbled, walking away and taking small, quick steps before flopping onto the bed.

I reached for my phone and began scrolling through it while waiting for Jungwon to finish cooking. Eventually, he placed the steaming bowl of ramen on the table, accompanied by an ice pack.

"Put this on your ankle," Jungwon said, handing me the ice pack. I hesitated for a moment, but ultimately nodded, accepting the cool relief it offered for my injured ankle.
