JUNGWON'S POV

AS THE GAME progressed, our classmates, fueled by their competitive spirits, began to cheer louder and pay closer attention to Jurin and me. Sunoo, with a mischievous grin, called out to our friends, "Hey guys, look at Jungwon and Jurin. They didn't kill each other!" His playful comment earned a round of chuckles from our friends, who were equally amused by the unexpected pairing.

Jay, always one to seize an opportunity to tease, chimed in, "I guess they finally realized they couldn't win against each other, so they joined forces." He emphasized his point with an exaggerated wink, causing even more laughter to ripple through the group. Jurin rolled her eyes at Jay's remark, but I could see a faint smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

"All of you guys were paired up already," I stated, earning stares of disbelief and soft scoffs escaping their lips.

Heeseung, who had been silently observing the game, couldn't resist joining in on the banter. "Well, we have to admit, they make a surprisingly good team. But let's not get too carried away. I bet I can beat them both in the next game." His competitive spirit ignited a playful challenge among our friends, each expressing their confidence in their abilities.

Niki, being the embodiment of competitiveness, added fuel to the fire. "Let's show these two what real teamwork looks like," Niki smirked slightly, fist-bumping Heeseung, intensifying the friendly rivalry between our group of friends.

I couldn't help but sigh at the childish antics, but my attention quickly shifted to Jurin, who had not been listening in on the conversation with a faraway look in her eyes, zoning out into her daze. Unable to resist her adorable demeanor, I reached out and ruffled her hair playfully, snapping her out of her daze. She huffed, swatting my hand away in mock annoyance before fixing her hair with a faint blush on her cheeks.

Sunghoon, always the peacemaker, sensed the need to lighten the mood. "Come on, guys! Can't we just appreciate the fact that Jungwon and Jurin won this round? They did a great job, and we should congratulate them." His words resonated with the group, drawing their attention back to the accomplishment rather than the teasing.

Jake, known for his level-headedness, nodded in agreement. "Sunghoon's right. Let's put our competitiveness aside for a moment and acknowledge their achievement. Good job, Jungwon, and Jurin!" His calm voice carried a sense of unity and camaraderie, reminding us of the bond we shared as friends.

One by one, our friends joined in, congratulating us and giving us encouraging pats on the back. It felt surreal to receive such support from a group of people who used to see us as rivals. It was a testament to how much we had grown and changed, both individually and as a group.

Jurin and I exchanged grateful glances, silently acknowledging the unexpected camaraderie that had blossomed during the game. Maybe, just maybe, this new dynamic between us and our friends could lead to a deeper bond, one that would transcend competition and teasing.

As the day continued, we relished in the friendly banter and laughter, grateful for the newfound connection we had discovered. The field game turned out to be more than just a physical challenge; it became a catalyst for a budding friendship—a friendship that would bring us closer, teach us about teamwork and acceptance, and create memories that would last a lifetime.
