~ Author's Note ~

This chapter really is Ferran like "Nah we gotta take it slow 😳" and Jadrien like "But are you sure about that??? 🤨"

KISS KISS KISS

Jadrien's Perspective

"Last night..." I say, taking a bite from my sandwich. "When you... When you kissed me, that was amazing."

He nods, looking down, saying, "Yeah... It was a good kiss."

"Like, you're a hot kisser."

He looks up, grinning, his cheeks a little red. "You are too."

I grin back. "Perfect."

"Thank you so much for making all this food. You didn't have to... It was really nice of you."

"I wanted to, Ferran! I knew it would make a nice day at the park all the better!"

He smiles, looking into my eyes, saying, "It was a good idea."

I smile softly, looking up back into his eyes, and it's like I feel this connection, an energy, that we never had before. It's like all he had to do was admit it, and let loose, in order to let this begin between the two of us.

I lean my head on his shoulder slowly, and he puts his arm around my back slowly, saying, "I'll have to get used to being a couple."

"We'll both have to," I nod.

He gently rubs my back as we both eat our lunch. "So is this the first date?"

"I'd say last night was."

"Fair enough."

Suddenly, Ferran flinches, nearly jumping out of his skin when his phone starts to ring in his pocket. This causes me to burst out laughing at how frightened he was at such a little thing, and he grins, rolling his eyes and shaking his head as he takes out his cell phone. "Pedri is trying to face time me," he says, leaning away from me. He turns, facing me, so his camera is facing the opposite direction, and puts his finger to his mouth to signal me to keep quiet before he turns and answers the phone. "Hey, what's up?" he asks.

"Where the hell are you?"

"Uh, the park. Why?"

"Just wondering. I was just wondering where you ran off to because me, Eric, and Ansu are going out for lunch. We were gonna invite you."

"Oh, uh... Thanks so much, I'd love to, but I already ate lunch."

"Alright... Anyways, see you later, man."

"Sure. Bye."

"Ferran!" I snap, snatching his phone from his hand.

"Hey, hey, whoa- give me my phone back!"

"Why'd you have to tell him where we were?"

"I didn't say which park! There are plenty of parks we could be at," he puts his hand out to take his phone back, before saying gentler, "It's okay, Jadrien."

I sigh, handing the phone back, before snuggling right up to him again. "Sorry. Eric says I'm high strung." There is, indeed, admittedly, a huge fear in me that I'll annoy him so much or step over so many boundaries that would cause him to not want to do this. So I'm trying so hard to put my best self forth.

"Don't worry," he says. "I am, too."

"You're just like super chill! What the hell are you talking about?"

He shrugs. "My thoughts are high strung, I guess. Most of the time I think I'm chill, but then I just randomly get like that sometimes. I don't mind. Don't worry, Jadrien."

"You, know, Ferran, the people closest to me usually don't call me Jadrien."

"What do they call you?"

I shrug. "They all have their own nicknames for me."

"And, what?" he says, looking at me with a little teasing, knowing smile. "Do you want my nickname for you to be, oh I don't know... baby? ...sweetheart? ...honey?"

This makes me giggle, and I say, "Well, I wouldn't mind any of those... But actually I was just going to say Eric was the one who started calling me Jade, and now basically everyone close to me does, too, now, so if you want to call me that, it's good."

"Well, you know," he starts. "Jades are very beautiful gemstones, no?"

I glance away, giggling more, "Stoppp..."

"I, uh... I like it when you laugh like that."

"Quit being so awkward and just tell me I'm cute!" I grin.

"Okay, Jade," he smiles, his nose centimetres away from mine. "You're cute. If it makes you happy to hear that."

"And you're the man of my dreams."

"I would assume so, since you've been dreaming about me for years now. Anyway, we should go for a stroll around the park, no?"

I nod, standing up with him. Our fingers entwine more and more as we walk, just softly talking to each other. Of course we're both always on the watch for any nosy fans who could capture a picture of us, but pretty much no one is around, much to our pleasure and luck.

"You walked here, right?"

"Yes, I did," I nod.

"Want to come on a ride with me? In my car? I could drop you off at your house afterwards."

I agree to this, and we get in the car. He starts driving, with the radio on low, and I reach for his hand. He takes mine and squeezes it. "Oh, here!" I suddenly say, taking something out of my purse. "Take one of these."

He glances over. "Mints...? My God, does my breath really smell that ter-"

This makes me laugh out loud, and I say, still giggling a bit, feeling just slightly giddy at this whole thing with him, "No... So that before I go, we can kiss."

"O- Oh. Sure..." he says, seeming a little embarrassed, putting the mint in his mouth. "Right."

I put one in my own mouth. "Why do you seem so embarrassed? We did it less than twenty-four hours ago."

"Uh... But that was... Never mind."

"Say it."

"I was just going to say it was short. And I kind of just did it on impulse."

I roll my eyes, shrugging. "'Kay, then."

"No, no, I want to kiss you. It's just so early in this relationship, is all..." he says as he parks the car in front of our house.

"Hm... Well, alright, then. It's fine. If you really don't want to kiss, even though we are a couple..." I say as I start to gently rub his hand. I then reach up to stroke his cheek, and down onto his neck, to where his collar begins. I lean in and give him a gentle kiss on his jawline, still stroking his neck, saying, "Anyway, if you really don't want to, I guess I better g-"

"That's just cruel," he says, turning to me as I can't help but laughing cheekily. He leans in close, staring for a few seconds, before tilting his head to kiss me. He gently holds the sides of my head, and I can feel his smooth lips against mine. It's like he's just telling me, through the most beautiful way I want you. I want to know you more and more, Jade.

Finally he pulls away, and his eyes open. His mouth is slightly open as he stares into my eyes, with a certain astonishing awe in his, slightly panting. He strokes my cheek, and I stare, barely unable to contain the great giddy, excited feeling in me, so that a few giggles escape, and I say, "My God, you are just such a good kisser."

He continues to breathe deeply, before saying, "You are... You are, too."
