*i understand that mirae is simply a fictional character, but i still do not encourage any vile comments towards the character—i am pointing this out simply because most of these comments easily cross over to being misogynistic. as a woman myself, it's important to not make a habit of talking about other women like this, fictional or not! habits follow well into the real world. thank you :)

"all right, everybody, get the hell back in your seats, for god's sake!" the homeroom teacher clapped, immediately silencing the students as they all shuffled back to their rightful places. the homeroom teacher was a short yet brooding man who wore glasses that reflected all the light in the universe. trying to make eye contact with him would be painful.
"good. now i'd like to introduce you to your new classmate, who transferred from..."
"yongsan high." the new girl completed his sentence for him and the homeroom teacher laughed awkwardly.
"right, i'll leave it to you to introduce yourself to the rest of them." he declared, stepping aside as the girl stood behind the podium.
"my name is kim mirae and as you know, i've transferred here from yongsan high school..." mirae trailed off, letting her eyes roam around so she wouldn't embarrassingly lock eyes with any student. "uh, i'd love to get closer to all of you and i hope you treat me well, since i have a lot to learn from you." she bowed to her scary new classmates and a few of them mumbled a 'welcome'. mirae smiled at them awkwardly, fiddling with her hands.
though everybody seemed uninterested in her, they had enough decency to look at her at the very least. save for the guy in the very last row of the classroom sitting by the window with his head down.
a few of the girls seemed nice as they were minding their business and talking to the person next to them, but there was a group of menacing looking girls by the last desk, some sitting on tables, others curling their hair. it was through secondhand experience that mirae knew those were girls she shouldn't involve herself with. a good majority of the people seemed laid back, so as long as she didn't mix with the wrong crowd, mirae was almost certain she would be able to survive this.
"mm, well done. you can go sit there, in front of wooyoung." the homeroom teacher pointed to the boy in the back and dismissed mirae. oh. so that was his name.
mirae dragged her feet across the floor nervously making her way to her new seat, only to be stopped by a towering figure that stood in her path. "why you dragging your feet like that, hm?" the guy asked, taking slow steps towards mirae as she stumbled back. he had a scar on his eyebrows and fresh looking bruises on his face and knuckles. mirae gulped, immediately knowing this guy was bad news. "you forget to eat breakfast or something? your parents make you starve?"
mirae didn't answer, but the guy didn't seem like he had any intentions to stop. he reached his hand out to grab her arm. "you want your big bro to treat you—"
"hey." a calm yet stern voice called from behind them. both mirae and the strange, scary male in front of her turned in the direction of the sound. it was him, that mysterious guy, wooyoung. he silently glared at the scary looking guy in front of her.
"i can't fucking sleep because of the noise you're making."
"i'll go back to my seat, hyung." the boy in front of her said obediently, completely changing his demeanor as soon as wooyoung spoke up. wooyoung dropped his head back down and mirae pursed her lips, walking to her seat. so wooyoung was trying to protect me. mirae grinned to herself.
