san scoffed at the disgusted expression on the girl's face and crossed his arms. if he was completely honest, he kinda knew that butting into their conversation like this and making his presence known was only going to be an inconvenience to wooyoung, but he wanted to be immature about it for the sake of his ego. besides, he literally overheard the girl confess her feelings for him. what man in his sane mind just walks by like everything's fine, when something that belongs to him is being taken away from him right in front of his eyes?

she adamantly crossed her arms back at him and wooyoung sighed. seeing how she didn't squeal and jump around at the sight of san... she must be one of those types. the genuine haters. just like wooyoung when they'd initially met. but for some reason, this girl seemed to be the kind that held onto her grudges.

"what?" she jeered. "did you think i was gonna be all happy to see an overrated celebrity like you? you disgust me."

wooyoung stood between the two of them in order to break the tension. "hey, mirae, don't talk to him like that," he sternly said to the girl, who rolled her eyes as a cocky smile stretched across san's face. "and you," wooyoung turned to him, "do you not have manners? how can you just barge in to a conversation between two people?"

san groaned. did he really have to even them off like that? mirae mockingly raised her eyebrows at him and he looked away pettily.

"we're not exactly seeing each other or dating, and it's now what you think it is so don't worry about that," wooyoung consoled the girl, unaware of how much he was boosting her ego. "but, you're right. he's the reason i don't feel the same about you."

mirae huffed. "then what's the difference? you both are just dating without the label," she said brusquely and san glanced at wooyoung before clearing his throat. "woo," she continued, pulling wooyoung by his arm and holding him in place. "do you really have to get involved with a person like him? he's a player, for god's sake! he's probably had a fling with every girl in the entertainment industry for all i know! you should stay away from him."

it was difficult for san to declare which one bothered him more—her words of distaste, or the way she had her hands all over wooyoung. or maybe it was how she did it so casually, even wooyoung didn't seem to mind; almost like he was used to it. san's upper lip twitched at the thought of it. why was he used to it? and exactly how close were they, that she even felt comfortable deciding what was right and what was wrong on wooyoung's behalf?

"we'll talk about this inside. before somebody notices," wooyoung grabbed the two of them by the sleeves, ushering them towards his apartment. san rolled his eyes but followed his lead nevertheless. he admired how wooyoung managed to be so calculated and logical even at a time like this, but couldn't he have told mirae off before putting the conversation to an end?

wooyoung let go of his grasp on mirae and turned to san, who looked down at him with raised eyebrows. "it's like you're asking to be noticed," he mumbled, pulling the hood of san's sweatshirt over his head to hide his face. san couldn't help but grin and his insides warmed in relaxation. the little action frustratingly seemed to dissipate all of san's anger. it was annoying how he could never dedicate himself to being mad at wooyoung.
