for the first time in a long time, wooyoung woke up with no worries or concerns weighing down on his chest. it was the next morning after his conversation with choi san. portions of their conversation still lingered in the back of his mind, but it wasn't bad enough that it deserved any mention. in other words, wooyoung felt fine.
it was a saturday so he was cursed with the company of yunho and yeosang, even though it was their apartment that he was staying in after all. the three of them sat around the dining table, having their lunch. wooyoung quietly ate his food while the other two scrolled their phones.
"man, yesterday was fun." yeosang started to speak with food stuffed in his mouth, referring to their class reunion. "i thought things would be hella awkward. we should get together with them more often, huh, wooyoung?"
wooyoung nodded dismissively. catching up with old faces and knowing what they were doing with their lives now was enjoyable and fun, and he weirdly hoped they would reunite more often in the future. up until some point, wooyoung believed that his old classmates were hopeless ingrates and there would be no point in seeing them again. strange how one get-together was enough to change his mind; seeing everybody laugh, chat and get along with each other was wholesome and wooyoung found himself strangely enjoying their presence.
for someone who usually valued his alone time over anything else, wooyoung really was acting strange.
"you guys are lucky you still get along with your classmates," yunho mumbled under his breath. "i was an outcast so i'd rather die than see those people again. it was my fault though, because i humiliated myself and ended up being the laughing stock for the remaining years of school."
yeosang raised his eyebrows and set his chopsticks aside, looking up at yunho. "well that's sad. how can you blame yourself for their actions?" he lectured.
"um, because it was my fault? i had a nightmare while i was asleep in class once and literally peed myself in front of everyone..." yunho responded awkwardly without taking a pause from eating his food.
"well," yeosang stuttered awkwardly, "you were young, anyways! that's not a good enough reason for people to kick you around like that."
"i was 15..." yunho trailed off, causing yeosang to choke on his food. that captured even the attention of wooyoung who set his fork down and facepalmed.
"isn't 15 a bit too old to be doing things like that? dude, are you stupid?" yeosang cackled, going from giving yunho an emotional lecture to turning him into a laughing stock himself. yunho scoffed defensively.
"hey, i was still young! and it's not like i took a fat shi—"
"can we not have this conversation at the dining table?" wooyoung cut him off and shook his head. they really had no morals or principles whatsoever. still, who was doing immature stuff like that at the age of 15? when wooyoung was 15, he was busy discovering his true purpose of life and was in the early stages of realizing that systematic education just wasn't for him.
