but there was a catch; wooyoung was his anti-fan.

"mission, bringing woosan back together. initiate! what do we do now?"
wooyoung was grateful he'd made such good friends, but he couldn't help but feel bad for them. it was a sunday, and they'd all gathered so early in the morning to help wooyoung feel better. yeosang's idea was to come up with a scheme to help fix things, but there was not much they could to do.
"it really looks like you're enjoying this," mirae crossed her arms, glaring at yeosang, who only shrugged in response.
"that's because i am," he stated matter-of-factly. "this is the first time i'm seeing wooyoung act out over somebody he likes. i need to witness all of it."
the two started to quarrel back and forth like they always did, but wooyoung was too deep in thought to stop them. after what mirae had told him yesterday, he became even more determined to fix his relationship with choi san. but no matter how much he racked his brain, he couldn't find a solution. this time, it wasn't because he was bad with his words—it was because there was no choi san living next door to him anymore.
wooyoung didn't know where he lived either, and it would be really creepy to stalk him down and find his house. the situation really seemed impossible. texting wasn't an option, because san didn't respond, nor did he pick up his calls anymore. it appeared he'd blocked his number—he'd really decided to move on from wooyoung. the thought made his chest ache, but even if he did, it didn't mean wooyoung couldn't still apologize. they could still be friends, right? friends... even the thought of it made wooyoung shudder.
the little bit of hope he had went withering away, and once again, wooyoung was helpless.
it'd already been a week since their argument. seven days without choi san. every single day of it felt like a new level of hell, and wooyoung didn't know how much longer he could hold out in this perpetual abyss. he stared at his house key that was sitting on the table, the whale shark keychain that san had given him hanging from it. it served as a haunting reminder of san's words every time he came back to his apartment—i hope you'll remember me for a long, long time.
...i will, wooyoung thought to himself. it was a curse that san had put on him. after all, a memory was all san had left him with. there was not much he could do besides.. remember. wooyoung crossed his arms over the table and rested his chin over his forearm. he tried to subdue all his memories with san that flashed through his mind. it was like a ritual done before you finally come to terms with the fact that your relationship with someone is over, and wooyoung was nowhere near ready to do that now. he wasn't yet ready to let san be a thing of the past. even if san had let go, wooyoung wouldn't. he decided to cling onto it until he found an opening for the two of them.
besides, if he could really rely on mirae's words, then san would definitely come back. it felt like hanging onto false hope, because it was just a hunch that mirae had. still, wooyoung wanted to trust her. otherwise, without anything left to hope for, he would truly lose his mind.
"choi san isn't even doing any of his promotional shows anymore, ever since the scandal," yunho mentioned, showing his phone screen to the rest of them. "seonghwa's doing them all alone."
"his company is fucking trash. why do they never release statements in the most important situations? this is a really important time for san as well," mirae complained, taking yunho's phone from his hand and watching the show that seonghwa was doing on his own. yeosang gaped at her in shock.
"i'm not crazy, am i? is the kim mirae defending choi san right now?"
mirae rolled her eyes. "stop overreacting. he's a good man," she mumbled. san was such a nice person, he even managed to change mirae's mind about him. that was how humble and down to earth he was. he was definitely not a stuck-up, stoic and emotionless celebrity like wooyoung had expected. that was the kind of guy that wooyoung had hurt.
"should i just wait for him to come back?" wooyoung muttered, finally speaking up. he really didn't see any other way. the three of them turned to look at wooyoung dramatically.
"absolutely not!" mirae shrieked, shutting him down almost immediately. she shifted her chair closer to wooyoung. "woo, when i said he'd come back, i didn't mean instantly! this wasn't a small argument either. it'll probably take weeks, months or even more than a year! you hear me? i was just saying it so you'd get the courage to approach him."
yunho nodded in agreement. "plus, why should you wait for him? he isn't the one who made the mistake. you're the one who owes him an apology."
"mhm. it's only fair that the person who messed up makes the first move when it comes to apologies," yeosang chimed in, and wooyoung huffed. all of them were against his idea. they had an extremely valid point, too. but what was wooyoung supposed to do? there was nothing he could do on his own. the only solution he saw was if san made his way to him, because wooyoung could definitely not find him on his own.
"i can't go and find him, though. it's not that easy. he's a celebrity," wooyoung stated, feeling disheartened. "i don't even know where he lives."
"you make a fair point," yunho said. mirae bit down on her lip, deep in thought. "you know," yunho continued, "you don't have to like, stalk him down, or whatever. you just need to figure out a way to bring him back to you.. you get me? you need to make a move that'll make him have to come find you."
"like what? get into a car crash like in the dramas? and then we'll give san a call and belike you need to get here!" yeosang dramatically cried, "wooyoung doesn't have much time left to live. he said he has something to say to you before he perishes—"
"you're right!" mirae clapped, completely cutting off yeosang's act and he rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed. wooyoung sat up straight, hoping he was going to be given solid advice. "yunho's right. damn, i guess all the dramas you watch really paid off," she complimented, giving yunho a high five. wooyoung's gaze shifted back and forth between the two of them in confusion.
"but how am i supposed to do that? your advice seems too ambiguous," he complained, dropping his face on the table again. mirae scoffed.
"we can't help you that far! you have to figure it on your own from here onwards," yeosang interjected. "you have to fix it on your own. only then, will it mean something."
mirae nodded in agreement.
"all i know is, san will come back to you, even if it's a year from now. and you have to be the one to go to him first."
