hi everyone!! thank you for reading MY ACTOR. i love you all!! (*^3^)/~☆ — "then let's do the next best thing. how about we set some rules? to put it professionally, a contract."
a contract? what did wooyoung look like, a business deal, or something? he withheld his petty thoughts and decided to hear san out. not like he was capable of coming up with a good solution himself, anyways.
"go on..." he gave the green light, awaiting san's proposal. "i'm all ears."
"alright," san began, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees and his hands clasped. "so whatever rules we put down into this contract, we have to follow them until i leave. the apartments, i mean."
wooyoung nodded, silently listening. the thought of san leaving so soon failed to cross his mind more often than not. as if it wasn't bad enough that he'd entered into a love contract with a celebrity, the fact that this celebrity would vanish from his life soon only made things worse.
"i'll go first," he continued, crossing his arms. "i have three. my first rule is that you'll give me at least one hour of your time. every single day, until i leave, for the next 35 days or so."
wooyoung's face immediately dropped into his hands at the sound of that. regardless of how much san stimulated him, his very presence was still obnoxious. he couldn't even tolerate the guy for longer than 2 minutes when he opened his mouth, so how was he supposed to handle a minimum of one hour? furthermore, a smaller part of him that he tried to restrain, was more concerned of the possibility of attachment. what if he got used to seeing choi san every single day, like a routine? how would he ever handle his absence then? it was a change as severe as omitting one meal out of your daily three, for the rest of your life. and wooyoung didn't like sudden changes.
"my second rule is that if we ever argue, you won't run away from me. instead of running away, coming back and asking to talk things out then running away again, we'll sort things out and put an end to it immediately. okay?"
that didn't seem as bad as the first one, but knowing wooyoung's personality... though he didn't trust himself, he still bobbed his head up and down. san looked at him with disbelieving eyes; as always, he could see right through him. he didn't seem to be worried anyways, since he always found a way to bring wooyoung back to him one way or the other. all he needed to do was throw out another love scandal like a boomerang and it'd come back with wooyoung tightly clinging onto it, heading for san's throat.
"and my last rule is that we don't keep secrets from each other," san said sternly with his arms crossed. this was just a waste of three rules. what secrets did wooyoung have to keep? choi san was the only out-of-ordinary thing happening in his life at the moment. "if someone's hitting on you, if you're upset because of something, all of it. you have to tell me every single thing without leaving anything out." he completed.
wooyoung pursed his lips and heaved out a breath, pondering over the three rules. other than the first one, nothing seemed too hard to manage. "fine," he gave in. "i'll go by your rules. i'll try."
san nodded. "good enough. now it's your turn."
no matter how much he thought about it, there wasn't much that wooyoung demanded from san. whatever rules he'd given wooyoung he would definitely obey them himself, so there was no need to waste a rule by setting the same guideline as him. there was just one thing san did that bothered him just once, and wooyoung knew it'd keep bothering him if he ever did it again in the future.
"...don't pursue other people," wooyoung started off hesitantly and san creased his eyebrows. "other than me. don't treat others that way. your cheekiness and all the flirting, and the kissing. save it for me. i'll break the contract off if i see even a single article about another love scandal." only after he was done speaking did wooyoung realize how possessive he sounded, almost like he was claiming san as his private property. he really couldn't help it, though—the suffocating feeling that tightened around his chest when he saw the article about semi was bad enough that he felt like he was drowning, and though he couldn't find a reason to explain what he felt, one thing was for sure; he never wanted to feel it again.
come to think of it, every single rule that both of them had placed down said one thing; it was basically a relationship disguised as a contract, but not a relationship at the same time. just what had he walked into?
san didn't seem to mind, though; upon realizing what wooyoung was asking from him, his eyebrows loosened and he seemed to bite his lip down to contain a wide smile. "is that it?" he asked forwardly and those amused eyes of his twinkled brighter than ever.
wooyoung nodded. "that's it," he declared, stretching his arms wide out in exhaustion. san watched his every move keenly. "ugh. i walked out on an appointment because of this." wooyoung groaned as soon as memory's of him standing mirae up came to his mind. he really despised how choi san was capable of disrupting his peace to such extents, making him behave in ways he never usually would.
"really? with who?" san asked curiously, leaning forward. "i got off work early today, that's why i was already here when you came."
wooyoung stared into space, wondering how he was ever going to make it up to her. "just, a friend. remember that girl i was with at the restaurant? i doubt you do..." wooyoung trailed off, rubbing his eyes.
"oh. her? why were you with her?" san probed. wooyoung tilted his head up to look at him. he had an irritated look on his face as he awaited wooyoung's reply.
"i wanted to treat her to dinner," wooyoung said like it meant nothing. "i owed her something."
san scoffed, crossing his arms and leaning back. "did she say that? that you owe her something? huh. she's into you, you know. wait, did you already know? i told you, no secrets!"
"oh, shut up," wooyoung sighed exasperatedly. "we're just friends. she used to like me back in high school and that was years ago. what kind of crazy person likes someone for that long?"
"you have no idea," san mumbled, his tone traced with even more annoyance upon hearing about mirae's former feelings for him. "hey, i'm setting the same rule for you. don't see other people and by other people, i mean that girl. if you do, i'll break off the contract. no, i'll do something worse. i'll—"
"you can't do that," wooyoung argued adamantly. "you set your three rules already, you can't add one anymore."
san glared at him indignantly like he'd been wronged. nevertheless, he backed down, still irked off.
wooyoung shut his eyes, apprehensively realizing what he'd set himself up for. he could only hope that the month to come wouldn't be a disaster.
"hey," san began and he tapped wooyoung on his shoulder, awakening him from his dazed state. "that one hour of your time that i mentioned. how about we use it now?"
