wooyoung groaned

wooyoung groaned. this was definitely not how he wanted to spend his free time after work. regardless of his opinion of choi san now, he would still rather die than watch one of his cheesy dramas. it was even worse that he was being subjected to this torture in his own apartment.

san plopped down next to him, holding in his hands the box of fried chicken he had ordered. "hey, i've watched this one," wooyoung grunted, doing anything in his power so they could do something else. anything else. the horribly cringey ceo & secretary drama played on the screen in front of them, and it was possibly wooyoung's least favorite work of san's. there was so much to hate about it besides the overused and cheap plot. "can't we watch one of your movies, or something? this one is horrible. actually horrible."

san huffed, crossing his arms in petty annoyance. "mind you, this is my most popular tv drama yet. everybody loves it."

"yeah, as long as they're not in their rights minds, just like a huge part of your fan club," wooyoung retorted, reaching for the remote. san stopped him by grabbing his wrist, pulling him back to his initial position. wooyoung groaned in irritation, but complied nonetheless. he could just pretend like he was watching it.

for normal people like wooyoung, television series and movies were like a getaway from the stress of their everyday lives. but no matter how stressed he was, he knew watching a choi san drama would never be the solution. it would literally drain him of his will to live on top of all the stress. maybe that was a reach, but wooyoung was serious about his inability to handle anything as cheesy as a choi san drama. he was literally lactose intolerant.

he glanced at san, who was enjoying his own drama more than anyone else in the room. he was completely engrossed and wooyoung couldn't help but pinch his own nose in dismay. san didn't even notice how much wooyoung wanted to throw a remote at the television screen, any moment now. deciding to just cope since he had no other choice, wooyoung stole a chicken leg from san and bit down on it angrily, leaning back against the headrest.

"by the way, what do you mean you've watched this drama?" san asked without shifting his gaze away from the screen. "i thought you hated my guts."

wooyoung rolled his eyes. did he really need an ego boost, every second of his life? "i turned the tv on, and this was the only thing there. i watched like, half of it. maybe i was trying to make my life more miserable for the aesthetics."

"mhm," san hummed skeptically and leaned forward, mesmerized by his own series that wooyoung believed he'd probably watched over a hundred times on his own.

wooyoung's upper lip twitched in annoyance as he reluctantly forced himself to watch the drama for san's sake. at least it hadn't gotten to the cheesy parts yet. "hey, we're only going to watch the first episode, right? you're not gonna make me watch all sixteen... right?"

san shrugged. "i mean, if time allows."

"it won't." wooyoung refuted almost instantly, but he was mostly trying to convince himself. he didn't want to put himself through even another hour of this cringe-fest. san turned his head to narrow his eyes at wooyoung, and wooyoung glared back begrudgingly.

"understandable," san suddenly smiled cockily, and wooyoung could already tell what was coming next. "seeing my handsome face for a few minutes in person must be overwhelming enough. how are you gonna handle another fifteen hours of it?"

"i told you," wooyoung jeered, clutching san in a headlock. "to get your head out of your ass," san struggled in his grasp, slapping his arm. "there's no tapping out." wooyoung completed like the menace he was.

"you should have been in martial arts instead of dancing," san managed to stammer, his vocal box suppressed by wooyoung's tight hold on him. "you've got the talent for it." he wrapped his arms around wooyoung's waist, completely giving up on fighting back.

before he could get any more violent and actually end up knocking san out, the drama playing on the tv cut to another scene, causing wooyoung to go almost rigid. wooyoung stared with his mouth wide open in shock as san started to take his shirt off in the scene and approach the female lead, and suggestive music began to play in the background. no wonder the show went viral. san literally profited off of the obscenity of this series.

despite all his questions about the lack of modesty and appropriateness, wooyoung couldn't help but stare, almost like he was paralyzed, obliviously loosening his grip on san. san furrowed his eyebrows from beneath him and peered up at him curiously, before looking at the screen in front of them.

he jerked up and slapped his hand over wooyoung's eyes almost instantly. "you're right," san stumbled over his words in a hurry, "we shouldn't watch this. let's watch something else. haha." he completed with an awkward laugh and wooyoung groaned, trying to rip his hand away. though he was stronger than san by tenfold, it was san's determination that made it difficult for wooyoung to free himself from san's grasp.

"is this what you wanted to make me watch?" wooyoung muttered, finally slapping his hand away, but san had already turned the tv off by the time. "what happens after that? don't tell me—"

"no," san crossed his arms, interrupting wooyoung. "whatever vulgar thoughts you have, it's none of that."

wooyoung scoffed in disbelief and leaned back against the couch. the embarrassment quickly left san and he turned his frame towards wooyoung, his eyes twinkling. "don't tell me you were jealous. is that why you couldn't finish this drama?"

the sheer audacity of san made wooyoung's jaw drop, so much that it could've almost touched the floor. san grinned at him cheekily. "no, seriously, how big is your ego?" wooyoung exclaimed in amazement, "you're ridiculous. why did i even get myself involved with you..." he mumbled, tossing his head back in exhaustion.

san snickered, and wooyoung lifted his head to glare at him. "is this funny to you?"

"no. it's adorable," san responded and wooyoung quickly averted his gaze, clearing his throat. did he have to be so forward all the time?

san chuckled at wooyoung's awkwardness before tightly wrapping his arms around wooyoung's stiff frame, getting sentimental all of a sudden. "i feel like these three months would've been hell if it weren't for you," he mumbled, face pressed against wooyoung's shoulder. "thank you for living here."

wooyoung sighed and shook his head at the action. he knew if he opened his mouth, he'd probably say something sarcastic and insensitive in response, so he kept it shut and instead, gently wrapped his arms around san's neck, patting his fluffy dark hair. he could almost feel san's smile against his skin.

so much for watching his tv show together.
