"The course of true love never did run smooth."

Last time I was on a vacation with my friends, I kept an imaginary diary- didn't end up so well. This time just for good measure, I remembered to bring my actual journal.
"Whatcha writin'?" Ally smiles when she enters our room.
"I was looking at the beach and felt the need to dot something down- but when I opened it and clicked the pen, nothing came out. I've been staring at this blank page for ten minutes." I sigh out in despair.
"Let it simmer in your mind for a little while longer. It will come to you." she shrugs, walking inside the bathroom and shutting the door. "Are you showing your face at breakfast today?" she speaks loudly so I can hear her.
"Yeah." I mutter mindlessly, clicking the pen vigorously.
I watch as a group of people with roller skates hanging around their shoulders walk down the beach.
When they pass the house we're staying at, they stop to take a group picture. I smile as one of them arranges their pose and order in which to stand in- that's the equivalent of our Mina. Another one sets their roller skates down on the sand, so that they can hug the brunette next to them tightly.
Big smiles under the sun.
That's what I want to remember this vacation as for us as well.
Even if things with Luke are weird now.
Bad. Maybe they're bad, I don't know how pissed or disappointed he is. I have been successfully avoiding him since the beach.
"Luke's already down there, just so you can prepare yourself." she utters softly.
"Thanks." I mumble, putting on my t-shirt. I run a hand through my hair to tame it, and then put on a pair of old basketball shorts Mina gave me ages ago.
"Is Adam Sandler your fashion inspiration for the day?" Ally raises an eyebrow amused.
"What?" I ask confused.
"Nothing, nevermind. You ready?" she checks.
"No." I sigh.
"Great, no one never is. Let's go." she motions for me to follow her downstairs.
I chuckle at that and follow with half a heart.
When I reach the top of the stairs of the first floor, I stop her, my eyes panicked.
"It will be okay." she assures me with a kind smile just as Mina exits her room.
Michael following suit behind.
"Oh my God." me and Ally utter shocked.
"Is that? Are they?" I mutter to Ally, pretending our two friends didn't just open the door, with Michael holding his shirt and shoes in his hands.
"I think so." Ally smirks.
"Oh, Lord." Mina covers her face in embarrassment.
My eyes find Michael's. He has the biggest, sweetest, brightest grin on his face and I fight contain mine.
"So, breakfast. Shall we?" Ally breaks the awkward silence.
"Yes. Breakfast. Thank you Ally." Michael rushes down the stairs, walking past us without another glance.
"Did you just thank me?" Ally mumbles to him as she follows him.
"Don't get used to it." he exclaims as they take a turn and disappear into the hallway.
