Writing this story has been a long journey for me, with a big break in between. Because of that, some parts of the original storyline have become a bit unclear. However, what stands out clearly is that my initial plan was to create a story with a sad ending. That was my main goal when I first started writing, before the direction of the story changed (◕દ◕).
•𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆?
As I mentioned before, this isn't the original storyline because I have made big changes. About 75% compared to what I initially planned. The plot was supposed to go a different direction, where Yin was originally willing to marry someone else, agreeing to an arranged marriage. In chapter 14, when War suggested that Yin marry another person for the sake of the child, the plan was for Yin to eventually agree to the contract marriage after a month.
However, while writing that chapter, something unexpected clicked in my mind and I started thinking deeply. I realized how frustrating it often feels when characters give in to parental pressure and settle for arranged marriages. This thought made me question whether I could create a story where the characters continue to fight for their love and refuse to let anyone dictate their decisions.
Yin's character in this story is inspired by the many novels I have read over the years. As a reader, I have always found it hard to come across characters who not only have deep, unwavering love but also the wisdom to ignore outside pressures. So, I decided to create a character who embodies these qualities. Someone who stands strong in their love, much like the characters I admire in fanfiction (っ˘з(˘⌣˘ ).
•𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆? My main focus has crystallized, to vividly portray the essence of true love ෆ╹ .̮ ╹ෆ. Yin and War deeply understood each other, prioritizing their love above all else in the world. From another perspective, their unwavering commitment to each other might have seemed selfish as Yin appeared to show minimal concern for anyone else. For Yin, life revolved around War and this is a point I aimed to emphasize. At the end of the day, they know that they rested upon each other, a truth they held dear.
•𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂? No, there will be no second season for Me Before You. Despite the story comprising just 45 chapters, I delved deep into each chapter, ensuring that every aspect of their love was thoroughly explored. However, perhaps down the road, if there's a longing from readers to read this story, I may consider writing an epilogue that follows them during their university years >.<
