It had been quite some time since I had spent time painting on the weekends. Perhaps I was also preoccupied with my job and that I filled the rest of my time with other hobbies. Well, having P'Yin as a constant companion in my life ensured that there was never a dull moment. But today I made up my mind to pick up the brush again in the hopes that I haven't completely lost my talent.

P'Yin sat down next to me and joined in on the painting, using the brush and canvas that I had provided for him. He painted a blue butterfly with a mix of colors sitting on red roses. Despite the fact that his painting had the quality one would expect from a first-year art student, it was nonetheless really cute to see how hard he had tried. He was very concentrated on not messing up the details, making me smile from ear to ear to see how focused he was.

I could watch him all day, his eyebrows were slightly pushed together. He didn't worry about the strands of hair falling over his face. Different colors of paint were scattered on his black knit sweater and the paint ran across his knuckles and his handsome face.

"Do you know what I paint, baby?" P'Yin asked while still carefully dragging the thin-tipped paint brush covered in black paint along with the wings of the butterfly.

I chuckled. "Of course, I know. It's a red rose and a chalkhill blue butterfly."

"Awww, how do you know? I may get kicked out if my high school teacher sees my painting. She may think I paint a mosquito," he said while grinning.

Chuckling, I got up and sat on his lap, in front of the canvas. Grabbing one of the larger paintbrushes and began to paint the flowers around the butterfly. "Beautiful or not, the aesthetic value of a work of art is secondary to the meaning you attribute to it. It's about your feelings, the reason why you draw it."

"It gives you the freedom to explore the artwork and assign your own meaning to the piece."

"So, why do you choose to draw red roses and chalkhill blue, hm?" I asked.

"Because..." P'Yin stared at me and gave me a deep kiss on my cheek. "It's symbolic of our love. Red roses bring the meaning of the purest symbol of love at first sight. The one and only love."

"I have fallen in love with you since the first time I saw you and I keep falling in love with you every single day. Red roses are everlasting love and romance, representing passion, desire and deep affection we have for each other."

My lips curved into a wider smile while I continued to help P'Yin to paint the roses. "And this chalkhill blue symbolizes a person's essence, soul, either past, present or future," he said and kissed my cheek again. "You're my forever soulmate, baby," he continued his words.

"You became too sweet nowadays. Am I giving you too many cookies?" I said while grinning, my cheeks turned pink.

"Awww, so I'm not sweet before this, huh?" He responded while continuing to plant sloppy kisses all over my face, which caused the entire room to erupt in our laughter.

"You're sweetttt," I said while laughing as he kept doing so.

The sound of rain hitting against the window made me turn to look. Light gray clouds hid the sun behind it, the sound of the rain was calming, so was the breeze I felt whenever I would sit by a window and crack open the window a bit.

"I like when it's raining and you're with me. It's peaceful," I said. The window in this room was the best view of the rain, the large window covered by navy curtains that blew a bit from the small wind.

I turned back to P'Yin, only to notice that he hadn't once looked out the window. Yet, his neck was tilted up a bit and his hair was a mess on the making. His beautiful eyes searched for my own and that's when I brought him in for a kiss.
