Nong Narin sat comfortably on War's lap as she savored the delectable cookies we had brought. Her eyes sparkled with joy and each bite brought a smile to her face. War's arms encircled Nong Narin. I watched this heartwarming scene unfold in front of me, my heart swelling with a profound sense of contentment.

"I like this cookie sooo much. Can P'War and P'Yin made this cookie again for me?" As Nong Narin's words reached our ears, War glanced at me, understanding passing between us. The realization settled upon us that this might be the last time we would visit this place, for our flight to New Zealand was scheduled just the day after tomorrow.

"Nong Narin." I smiled, ruffling her hair affectionately. "You have quite the sweet tooth, don't you?" Her eyes sparkled with delight as she savored the delicious cookie in her small hands.

"If you want to eat this cookie again, there is a condition," I gently asserted. "You must make a promise to us. Promise us that you will always extend a helping hand to those in need and you will always be kind to people. Can you make such a promise?"

Her eyes widened with excitement and determination, her innocent smile radiant as she nodded fervently. "I promise, P'Yin. I promise I will be a good person!" She said excitedly, making both of us smile.

We devoted three hours of our time at the orphanage, immersing ourselves in the joyous atmosphere and connecting with the children on a deeper level. Together, we played games, laughed and shared moments of pure happiness. In an effort to brighten their happiness, we brought an abundance of toys, filling the room with colors and the sound of their delighted laughter.

Amidst the playful chaos, some of the children, still innocent and curious, approached us with wide eyes and innocent smiles. They tugged at our sleeves, their voices filled with a sense of longing as they asked, "Where is nong Kit?" Their innocent hearts held a lingering hope that their friend, nong Kit, would return to them.

With a tender touch, I knelt down and gathered the children around. I explained to them with a mixture of warmth and compassion that nong Kit had found a better place. I assured them that nong Kit was safe, loved and cared for, even though he could not be together with us anymore.

As War placed a delicate flower on nong Kit's grave, I drew him closer, encircling my arm around his waist. We stood together, the ache of missing nong Kit tugged at our souls. It had been more than a month since we bid farewell to our beloved nong Kit, a sweet soul who had brought so much light into our lives.

In that solemn moment, surrounded by the hushed whispers of the wind and the fragrant scent of the flowers that adorned the grave, we found solace in each other's presence. Our love provided a sanctuary amidst the pain, a refuge where we could heal and find strength.

"This...this may be the last time we come to visit you, nong," War said between his tears and I held him closer. "But we promise whatever happens, we will never forget you. We love you so much, Kit," he said, his voice choked with sorrow and love intertwined.

"And, P'Yin and I..." War paused, his voice catching in his throat. "P'Yin and I will be married," he choked out.

A warm smile spread across my face as I gently wiped away his tears, my voice laced with affectionate teasing. "Awww, babyyy, you shared the happy news with nong Kit while crying, hm?" I playfully remarked, hoping to infuse a touch of levity into the moment.

He then clung to me tightly, seeking solace in my embrace as he buried his face in the comfort of my chest. His grip on me conveyed gratitude and deep emotion as if his heart overflowed with the weight of our shared journey and the happiness that lay before us.
