A WEEK LATER

As I stared at the calendar, marking the countdown to our upcoming 8th anniversary, a sense of unease settled within me. It was just five weeks away but it seemed that as the days drew nearer, the challenges we faced multiplied.

I couldn't help but wonder why the road to this milestone seemed to be littered with obstacles. Was it merely coincidence or was there a deeper meaning behind it all? Perhaps it was a reminder that true love is not without its trials that it must weather storms to emerge even stronger.

But of course I refused to let them overshadow the joy and significance of our impending anniversary. Eight years of shared memories, laughter and growth deserved to be celebrated, no matter the challenges we faced along the way. We love each other, that's it.

"Babyyy." P'Yin suddenly hugged me from behind and placed his chin on my shoulder.

"Why, hm?" I gave a quick kiss on his cheek.

"Can you follow me to the office tomorrow? I can't leave you alone, babyyy," he said.

Yeah, it had been two weeks since P'Yin decided to work from home instead of going to his office, all because he wanted to be there for me and take care of me. The emotional turmoil I experienced due to recent events still lingered within me but as the days went by, I got better. P'Yin's constant presence by my side played a significant role in my healing process. However, I couldn't deny that when I was alone, a sense of loneliness would seep in and my thoughts would inevitably drift back to nong Kit, reminding me of what we had lost.

I turned around and cupped his face. "I'm okay, phiii. You are worrying too much," I said while chuckling.

"Of course I'm worried. You are everything I have, babyyy."

He pouted. "I still don't want to go to the office but you are the one who insists," he muttered, a tinge of sullen coloring his tone.

I couldn't help but smile at his adorable sullen expression. "But you're the boss, loveee. How can the boss not be present at his own company?"

He continued to look at me, his expression still sullen. With a soft chuckle, I conceded. "Alright, alright. I will follow you tomorrow."

As I said that, his face lit up with a mixture of relief and joy. He then pulled me into a tight embrace, showering me with affectionate kisses.

"P'Yinnn!!!" I screamed as he continued to wet my face with a sloppy kisses.

"Can't help. I love you so much," he responded while giggling and continued to do so.

The next day, I followed P'Yin's to his company as he requested. As I walked hand in hand with P'Yin through the lobby of his company, I could feel the surprised eyes of the employees upon us. Like a soft breeze, the sound of whispers wafted around the room. Evidently, P'Yin's arrival while holding my hand caused some chaos, answering their curiosity about the rumor of our relationship.

P'Yin remained unfazed, his grip on my hand firm. His gaze fixed ahead and sometimes at me, giving me his lovely smile.

As we stood in front of the elevator, I couldn't help but notice the mixed reactions of the people around there. Some offered friendly smiles and nodded of acknowledgement while others whispered behind their hands, casting judgmental glances our way. It was a reminder that not everyone would accept or understand our relationship but I refused to let their opinions define us.

I knew that P'Yin had chosen to bring me here for a reason. Not just because he worried about my condition but it was a way to show the world that our love was not something to be hidden or ashamed of. We were proud of who we were and the bond we shared, regardless of societal expectations or prejudices.
