Is he a chameleon?

How can someone change their expressions so quickly? A second before he was all sentimental and shit and now his expressions suddenly changed like we were having a boring, regular conversation.

"Dialogues were good, and the expressions were great too. I think this script will work."

What the fuck is he blabbering about?

Seeing my bewildered expression, he tilted his head a bit, gesturing towards the cab driver, who seemed to have more focus on our conversation than on the road.

Damn! We talked about so many things. Suspect, memory loss and what not. How stupid can we be! Actually, how stupid I can be? I was so focused on Rehaan's condition that I didn't even notice anything else. While the person who was actually sad and emotional, caught the driver eavesdropping.

Well, he was always the observant person though.

"Yeah...you are right. I am sure the boss would be happy with the script we came up with. It was a good mix of emotions, mystery and funny banter," I said, adding onto the drama, hoping the driver would be convinced.

Rehaan and I both relaxed our shoulders, when we saw the suspicious and judgmental look leave the driver's face through the mirror.

"I know right. Thank you so much for enacting my idea. I am so glad that my idea came out so well," Rehaan exaggerated his gratitude, while slyly taking all the credit to himself.

Looking at the side mirror, I saw the driver getting impressed by this jerk too.

This wasn't a competition, but I couldn't just stay still after seeing his smug expression. So here came my attack.

"So true. The script was fantastic. But I think it was missing something."

"Missing...something?" Rehaan asked, shifting in his seat as he already guessed I had something up my sleeves.

I looked at the driver to see he was intrigued about the missing factor too. Great! The table was set. Now it was time for the main dish.

"Romance."

And just like I had imagined, Rehaan's whole composure went out of the window upon hearing the word. Before he could deny or come up with something to end the conversation, I started speaking again.

"How can we forget about such an important genre? This was a beautiful moment. I think the scene would shine even better if we add romance to it." Turning towards the driver, I directly asked him, "What do you think about it?"

"Me?" He coughed, startled upon being caught.

"Come on, don't be shy. We value the opinions of our audience. Right, Rehaan?" I looked towards Rehaan expectantly, while trying to hide my smirk.

"Ye...yes. Please tell us about your opinion," Rehaan agreed disheartedly.

"I found the last sentence really romantic," the driver said dreamily, probably imagining someone, "You are the only one for me in this whole world."

It was now my turn to get embarrassed. I coughed a bit, before correcting awkwardly, "The last line wasn't exactly this. It was more emotional than romantic."

"Potato-potahto." The driver rolled his eyes. "The sentence felt sweet and romantic to me. Even more than the over-used one about the moon and stars."

Embarrassed, I side-eyed Rehaan who suddenly found great interest in his palms. This wasn't my plan. Only Rehaan had to get affected, why I was getting dragged into this.
