As always Rehaan had a better tactic than me.
While I was busy contemplating my murder plans, as if I had the ability to kill someone, Rehaan took another route.
Licking his boots...ahem! Flattering him😪.
"Are you still trying to save her?" Rehaan yelled from behind, stopping uncle from leaving.
Uncle turned to look at him with a raised eyebrow.
Gaining confidence that his idea was working, Rehaan continued, "You said we burned the mansion and documents to save Muskaan. Are you still trying to do that? The whole plot of changing her identity; is that to save Muskaan again?"
I knew Rehaan was just trying to hype him up by continuously putting the words 'he saved me' in his sentences, yet a hope ignited in my heart.
Was he really trying to save me?
My hope died down in an instant when uncle averted his eyes and bowed his head in shame.
"That's a no then," Rehaan sighed, running a hand through his hair.
He was barely holding it, but his condition seemed a bit better than a few minutes ago.
Don't faint here Rehaan, or else I wouldn't know what to do.
"How about coming for tea?" I asked uncle, the offer being genuine this time.
"Please tell us about what happened seven years ago. Forget about the current situation, and just tell us about the time you played hero." I requested.
Something was better than nothing.
"Please uncle, I need to know what happened to mom." I joined my hands, letting a few tears fall to add the effect.
From the earlier conversation, it looked like he was genuinely devastated for not reaching on time to save my mother. So I used that against him, hoping against all odds to find out some truth among the web of lies.
Using your own mother, you are cruel Muskaan, so cruel.
While uncle contemplated it, I saw Rehaan moving stealthily from my side eye. I continued pleading with uncle, keeping his whole focus on me, while Rehaan picked up my mobile, which uncle had thrown before.
By the time, uncle agreed, Rehaan was already done with alerting Ananya Di. He showed me the message when we stood behind my uncle, while waiting for the lift.
Hide with weapons. Don't react, don't come out. Wait for our signal. Attack from behind in case of danger.
I took the mobile from Rehaan and hurriedly typed another message.
Act like you are sleeping.
Uncle was already aware that Ananya Di was here. The goons must have reported to him. So hiding her as if she wasn't here at all would be more dangerous.
Rehaan nodded at me in approval, before we got on the lift.
As soon as we entered the home, Uncle's eyes immediately went to the place Rehaan had crashed his head in.
"You were the one who hit him, weren't you?" I asked, not being able to stomach in the rage and curiosity.
Rehaan face palmed, silently letting me know it wasn't the time for it.
But both of us went through trauma because of it. How could I not ask?
"I didn't," uncle refused.
"Say something that makes sense." Rehaan rolled his eyes.
