Rehaan's POV
Cue to my heart racing happily.
I stood there smiling even after I lost. Seeing her laugh like this made me forget everything else.
"Fine, you win." I accepted my defeat, making her whoop her hand in joy.
"I am going to sleep. And you too, don't bother with hanging the clothes to dry. We will do that tomorrow. Just go to sleep as soon as you can," I told her, before looking at the clock. If she continued working, there wouldn't be night left at all. It was almost morning now as it is.
She just waved off her hand, gesturing me to go inside.
Exhaustion took over as soon as I hit the bed. The next time I opened my eyes, the other day was already half over.
Standing near the door of the room, I saw that Muskaan was still sleeping. Wrapped up in the blanket, she looked like a cute burrito.
I chuckled at the situation. So many events happened yesterday that it felt like a month passed by. While half of today was spent doing absolutely nothing. It was already evening and one of us was still asleep.
I moved towards the washroom to freshen up, but stopped in the tracks when I noticed the clothes hanging in the balcony.
That Idiot never listens. She only does what she wants.
Even after telling her so many times that it was okay to leave the clothes as it is, she ended up doing all the work before sleeping.
Wonder when she would have actually gone to sleep.
"Sleep some more," I muttered, looking over at her sleeping figure, before moving to do my business.
I saw her twisting and turning in her sleep as I returned. Chuckling, I was about to leave, when I heard a thud. Looking back I saw that her blanket had fallen off because of all the twisting. My face turned red as soon as I noticed that her t-shirt was slightly ridden up. I immediately turned my head to the other side, but the image was already imprinted in my mind.
"Idiot." I cursed myself for even getting out of the room. Should have just hid inside until she woke up.
~Should I go and cover her with a blanket?
~What if she wakes up at the exact moment? She would get scared of finding me near her.
~Should I just let her be like this and not do anything?
~But won't she feel uncomfortable if she finds herself like this when she wakes up?
~Should I just go to the room and pretend to be asleep?
~Good idea, she wouldn't feel too awkward about the situation, if she doesn't find out that I was here or awake for that matter.
While I was busy contemplating, I heard another loud thud. Praying that it wasn't what I thought, I slightly turned my head to see. It was exactly what I hoped it wasn't.
Muskaan had fallen down.
And had seen me before I could make my exit.
"Fuck, this is embarrassing," she muttered, and rubbed her sore shoulder.
I winced, thinking about the pain. Given the loud thud I heard, it must have been hurting a lot.
"Are you okay?" I asked lightly, walking towards her to help her up.
"Stop," she yelled suddenly, startling the hell out of me.
"Sorry," she muttered sheepishly, seeing that I got scared by her suddenness.
