Never thought that my stupid and fun dream would actually come true.

Rehaan actually pulled up his socks and did all the house work while I sat leisurely. I, of course, tried to intervene and help, but he sternly sent me away.

Right now, he was washing all the utensils that I used up for preparing his celebratory feast. To say they were a lot, was an understatement.

"You know, you just fulfilled one of my dreams," I informed him while watching him from the dining table.

He turned his face towards me. Raising his eyebrows, he questioned curiously, "Dream?"

Swinging my legs merrily, I answered him, "Yeah, a stupid dream I had when you were in hospital."

Hearing the word 'hospital' Rehaan stopped working altogether, and turned around completely to give me undivided attention.

"Remember the young nurse there?"

"The happily bouncing and overly love sick one?"

"Yup." I nodded, before happily going down the memory lane, "She and I spoke about how my efforts for taking care of you would be returned. That you will pamper me like a princess. I envisioned me ordering you around with a full on attitude while you served me."

I clapped my hands merrily, not believing that such a far stretched dream actually came true.

Rehaan chuckled, shaking his head at my giddy form.

"Yeah, yeah, order me around as you please. This man is in your service," he said, even going far as to bow to create a dramatic effect.

I tried not to, but ended up laughing so hard at his antics.

"Let me know if there are any more dreams. I will try to fulfill them all if they are in my capacity," Rehaan said at last, not in a jest like earlier but in a most genuine and sweetest way possible.

Cue to my heart falling harder and harder for this man.

Good things don't last long.

Fun and celebration were all over and we were back to discuss the impending trouble we were struck in.

"If uncle is as powerful as we think he is, then why did it take three years for him to find us?" I wondered out loud.

"Perhaps all these years, he thought I actually agreed to what he had asked i.e. throwing you out on the streets. And my contract was already over, so there was no need to look for me as well," Rehaan answered.

"Then now..."

"The moment your documents were up, he found out what he believed wasn't the truth."

I winced hearing his next sentence.

Immediately understanding what I was thinking, Rehaan was quick to reassure me, "It's not your fault. You didn't know anything about all this. If anything, it's my fault. I forgot all about your documentation. I can't believe how it completely slipped through my mind.

"Your uncle was blocking it for all those years that psycho was alive. It was obvious he would be the first one to find out if it passed the process."

"But he wasn't the first one," I pointed out.

"Hmm?"

"You said some other people came a day before your accident. Someone else found out about me before my uncle. That means-"

"There's someone out there more powerful than him," Rehaan finished, his forehead full of worry lines.

"Do you think those people are after me as well?" I questioned, scared out of my mind that there were more people I might need to hide from.

"Not sure about that, but one thing I am sure of is that they aren't on your uncle's side," Rehaan said.

"How are you so sure about that?"

"Those guys definitely said that they didn't believe me and they would come again to look for you. However the next day, your uncle came instead of them. So my first thought was that he was the one who sent them. But..."

"But-"

"The same sort of conversation happened. He wouldn't have asked the things they knew if he was with them."

"He could have been acting." I pointed out.

"True, but when I told him to ask his men about everything instead of irritating me, he looked shocked. Actually, more than shocked, he looked scared."

"Damn." I breathed out. It was a lot to take. One uncle was confusing enough but there were more people we needed to worry about.

"They said that would come again. But they haven't made an appearance again," Rehaan spoke up after a while. His eyebrows furrowed as he thought and tried to make sense of it all.

"Have you seen any suspicious people around when I was in hospital?" Rehaan asked.

I ran my hand through my hair, before looking at him apologetically, "I don't think so. And even if they were loitering around us, I don't think I would have figured it out."

"Again, it's not your fault, it wasn't ever your fault," Rehaan said, looking into my eyes to convey his sincerity.

"It wasn't yours either. Don't be too hard on yourself," I said, taking his hands and squeezing them in comfort.

I blinked my eyes in assurance. He breathed out, before going back to the work zone.

"As far as we know, we don't have any intel on these men, nor have they made any appearance. Going after them right now would be a waste of time. For now, focusing on your uncle would be better," Rehaan suggested.

"True." I agreed, before adding, "We might even find out about those men through uncle as well. He definitely knows them."

Rehaan nodded in agreement.

"Call Ananya Di. She is the one he handed your new identification papers to. She might have a way to contact him," Rehaan said, already making plans on how to proceed.

My eyes turned moist hearing her name. She was the only person who had my back all these years. And I lost her so pathetically.

"Muskaan?" Rehaan called me out hesitantly, probably confused by my sudden shrunken posture.

Breathing out, I tried to force a smile on my face before looking up at him. But one look at his concerned face, all my resolve vanished away.

"What's wrong?" He asked in a low gentle voice, before taking me in for a hug without waiting for my answer.

I gathered up some of his shirt piece in my fist as I cried on his shoulders. He cradled my shaking body, comforting me with soft words while not even knowing what was wrong.

"She left me," I choked out after a while, "All this was too much for her."

Who said only breakups in relationships broke your heart?

"Don't lose your heart now. Let her hide away. We will seek her out again after everything gets resolved," Rehaan said, while patting my back comfortingly.

He didn't say anything bad about Ananya Di. He could have berated her. It's not like she was his favourite person. But he didn't. Neither did he fake promise that she would come back. Not once did he say that she would regret her decision and come running to me.

He simply put my heart at ease by saying we would try again. Again, after the circumstances that scared her were over and done with.

We would seek her out then.

I broke the hug and wiped my tears; now more determined than before to end this chapter once and for all.

"Is there any other way we can contact uncle?"

Rehaan smirked, "If we cannot contact him then we must do something that would make him come running towards us."
