Dorothea's POV

"Hey, Spencer. Everything okay?" Spencer looks at me and smiles before looking over at JJ.

"JJ, who's your contact at the D.C. Police?" Spencer asks her.

"Uh, Victor Barnes. Why? You need me to call him?" JJ asks Spencer before handing him the information and he immediately calls someone

"Hi. Detective Barnes, please." Spencer says while showing the picture to us.

"Need to get that to everyone as soon as possible...Uh...Hi. Detective Barnes, this is Special Agent Dr. Spencer Reid at the behavioural analysis unit at Quantico. Have you had any recent murders involving prostitutes, maybe just Jane Does? They would have been stabbed to death, and their hair would've been cut off by the killer...When was the most recent victim? I'll explain when I see you. I'll meet you in a half-hour." Spencer says before hanging up the phone.

"What's going on?" Jason asks him.

"D.C. May have a serial killer. I think I just let him get away." Spencer says while I look at JJ, who gives me a smile.

"Is Spencer going to be okay?"

"Of course he's going to be okay. Spencer's just worried about this new case. Let's go get some breakfast." JJ says before the two of us go to the coffee cart.

"I wish they had breakfast sandwiches here."

"I'll talk to Hotch about that for you sweetheart." JJ says, causing me to smile at her.

Emily's POV

"At night, no one can see down there. During the day, you just duck behind the dumpster or into a doorway." Rhonda, one of the prostitutes tells Derek and I.

"Business is pretty heavy here in the mornings."

"How do I know you're not just looking to crack down on us?" Holly, another prostitute asks us.

"Because right now there is a bad person out there hurting prostitutes. So our concern is catching the person responsible." Derek tells both women.

"A lot of johns from the hill stop by on their way to work." Holly tells us.

"We always see the same politicians yelling about cleaning up the hill, are the ones dropping fifty bucks with us before they make the speech." Rhoda says.

"It's true, and the more important they think they are, the quicker they accidentally finish up with us. It's weird like that." Holly says.

"No, that's pretty much universal."

"Do you recognize him at all?" Derek asks them.

"I don't know his name or nothing." Holly explained to us.

"He hangs around, tries to pretend like he's not watching us. He's just a horny kid, you know." Rhoda tells me and I nodded in response.

"You did not see him talking to any of the other girls out here?" Derek asked the girls.

"I just figured he's the kind gets his little bit of danger and goes home and takes business into his own hands." Rhoda explained to us.

"Is he the one who did this?" Holly asks us.

"We don't know, but someone did, so you need to be careful."

"We stick to the daylight and only work the high-end blocks." Rhoda tells us,

"How old are you?" Derek asks them.

"Nineteen." Holly tells us.

"Just watch out for each other, ok?" Both women nodded before Derek and I walked away.

JJ's POV

"D.C. Police sent us these photos of the first victim." I tell Hotch before handing him the photos. Dorothea was sitting on one of the chairs working on her schoolwork.

"This was the unsub's first kill. He held his urges in check for three months, and when he couldn't control them anymore, he sent this message to the cops. We know the "help" and the hesitation marks mean he was ambivalent about the kill. What we don't know is why he chopped the hair." Hotch tells us while Emily sat on a chair and pulled Dorothea onto her lap.

"He didn't take it with him. We know it's not a trophy." Derek stated.

"It's probably a way to minimize some of their power, robs them of their femininity." Gideon says.

"That fits with him killing during the early morning. It's the time when prostitutes have the least power sexually, as opposed to at night, when he might see them as being on the prowl." Spencer says.

"Hey, I know we're just spitballing this here, but this profile points to Nathan Harris." Emily says.

"I don't want to talk about Nathan Harris." Hotch says.

"Hotch, she is right. He reached out for help. This is an adolescent kid. He's probably intimidated sexually. I don't care how many times he says he didn't do it. He knew about the last victim, and he admitted to getting off on seeing her dead." Derek says.

"Maybe he was reaching out for help because he wants to stop himself from hurting others. I wish James did that instead of hurting me." Dorothea states, not looking up at us. If I ever meet that man, I will kick his ass for hurting Dorothea and I know the team will help me with that.

"That could be a possibility Dorothea, but we have to look into every possible suspect." Emily explains to Dorothea.

"We've got Nathan Harris. It doesn't do us any good to talk about him now. I just want to make sure that if it's not him, we stay on top of things before it takes on a life of its own." Hotch explained to us.

"All right, all right, all right. We know our unsub is a sexual sadist." Gideon says to all of us.

"The symbolism of stabbing them probably means he's impotent." Emily says.

"The only way he can get off is by killing." Derek adds on.

"Considering that cutting their hair and killing during the early morning both stem from feeling powerless, there's a chance his pathology's more than sexual." Spencer says, causing me to look at him.

'What do you mean?"

"This is D.C. Power's the most important commodity. Maybe this guy feels impotent in his professional life as well." Spencer explains to us.

"But why these particular women?" Derek asks.

"Simplest answer is that he has access." Spencer explains.

"Well, Northwest D.C. has three major hubs of prostitution near Florida Avenue; off Logan Circle; and McPherson Square, where the victims were found."

"Well, I'll go back out on the street in the morning and see if any of these women know someone who fits that description." Emily says.

"Good. It's late. Let's go home." Hotch tells us.

"Um, shouldn't we get word out to the papers?" Hotch shakes his head before I walked over to Emily and Dorothea. Ever since meeting Emily, I've been feeling things that I haven't ever felt with another woman.

"Do you want to grab dinner?"

"Jennifer Jareau, are you asking me out on a date?" Emily asks me with a teasing smile.

"Yeah. Though Dorothea's welcome to join us. I just want to make her feel comfortable with us."

"Can we get chicken wings and ice cream?" Dorothea asks with a smile on her face.

"How about we grab some pizza and ice cream and bring them back to my hotel room?" Dorothea nodded, the smile never leaving her face.

"You heard the little one." Emily says while we continued walking out of the building.
