"You've been thrashing on my bed for fucking ten minutes," Iwaizumi finally puts down his pencil with an irritated sigh.

Having to ignore Oikawa's shennanigans while he's busy doing his homework on his desk makes his task practically impossible. Oikawa would toss himself from one side, to the other, on his back, flip to the stomach, and then bury his face into Iwa-chan's pillowcase to muffle out his needy whines. He's heard Oikawa make those noises in various ways: when he refuses to play volleyball with him when they were kids, when he's too lazy to do his work during math class, or those times when he's assigned on cleaning duty.

But he never whined to this extremity. Ten minutes is enough for Iwaizumi's fuse to run out.

He does this when he wants something.

Iwaizumi taps his fingers on the desk impatiently, "are you gonna tell me why you're being such a pissbaby or not?"

Oikawa ignores his snarky comment and throws an arm over his face.

"Iwa-chan... I'm having a crisis."

"I can see that."

Tossing to the side, he faces Iwaizumi, lips curling down to a frown (pouting childishly, Iwaizumi thinks,). He hesitates for a moment and rolls on his back to face the ceiling again.

"I think Ume-chan hates me."

"Oh?" Iwa-chan's eyebrows arch upward in surprise, but from the lilt of his it doesn't sound like he's disappointed. In fact, to Oikawa it sounded like he's almost pleasantly surprised. He smiles, amused, "I don't blame her."

"Mean! Iwa-chan! Mean!" Oikawa throws the nearest pillow to him, and Iwaizumi chuckles as he merely swats away his useless attack. Oikawa huffs and buries his face back in his sheets, " ...'m being serious here..."

So now he plays victim huh, Iwaizumi thinks, and he sighs before giving him his honest opinion. "Hate is a strong word... You're probably just overreacting."

"No no no," Oikawa protests, "You don't understand... Ume-chan told me to stop visiting her place anymore."

"You said you didn't overstep your boundaries the other day. She wouldn't do that then," Iwaizumi says confidently, "She wouldn't."

"But she did!"

To be quite honest, Oikawa thought that he and Fukui are okay now. He thought she felt better after taking it all out on her chest. She wasn't angry for his prodding - for his stubbornness. Taking all the safety measures and Iwaizumi's warning in mind, he made sure to comfort Fukui without coming off as a nosy person. Oikawa is a good kid, a bit annoying sometimes but still has good intentions. Fukui knew that he's at least tolerable.

Which is why Oikawa is so, so thrown back when he received a voice message from Fukui to stop visiting her house.

Without any explanation, she told Oikawa to stay away for a few months with the flattest tone. Before Oikawa was able to form a coherent question, she hung up. Is she mad at him? She seems normal around him at school, but lately eyebags droop down on her features. She's more prone to falling asleep during class too. Walks home are usual. However, once they split their ways, Fukui opens the door narrowly just enough so she could get in and slams the door shut.

This heavily impacted his routine, since he lounges at Fukui's place sometimes out of sheer boredom. Only a couple days passed and he already found himself to succumb into this endless hole of nothingness in his room, toying with the reaction ball she gave him for Christmas with a disinterested expression.
