Oikawa. Iwaizumi. Fukui. Haru. Takumi.
Out of all those people, Iwaizumi is convinced that there are two children in this house: Fukui and Oikawa.
For one Oikawa is no question. He's childish in his town ways in terms of stubbornness, whining, petty insults, and immaturity (mostly towards this first year genius setter at Karasuno). Fukui, on the other hand, is incapable of performing basic adult tasks.
The kid couldn't even cook a simple Omurice.
Fukui was glad Iwaizumi tagged along with Oikawa - someone who's trusted that can help her with the fire and cook the meal for them. Oikawa was slightly offended by the lack of importance in his job to just watch the kids, but Fukui gave him no chance to protest before the two charged inside the house in search for the fire extinguisher.
The smoke was thick, but luckily all the damage the house received are the charred frying pan and a shriveled up, shady black raisin inside it (aka the burnt omurice that gave off this nasty demeanor like Satan touched the food itself).
Now the kids, plus Takumi and Haru, sit down on the floor and quietly eat the omurice Iwaizumi made. The air is still tainted with hints of smoke, and no one bothered to talk because A: There's too many questions for everyone to even form a single coherent thought. B: Fukui isn't exactly in the best mood. In fact she looks more exasperated and worn than ever.
That is, until Iwaizumi had to leave, placing the chopsticks politely on the side of the bowl, "I have to go and finish up my work. Plus, I have that paper due tomorrow."
Fukui understands, she's glad not to have taken those cram classes after school. She looks down on her own bowl and mumbles, "thanks for the help..."
"No problem." He replies, and Fukui being a kind host walks him out of the house. On their way there Iwaizumi adds, "...but of course I don't do favors for free. Joint practices with other school teams are coming soon, and we need all the help we can get."
Great...
While the two gloss over the details outside, leaving Oikawa with the kids, the setter finally lifts his face from the plate with a sickly sweet smile. He leans over to the two kids over the table and said:
"...So you two have been the cause of Ume-chan's troubles lately, huh?"
By all means, Oikawa is familiar with children and how they work - he teaches kids how to play volleyball during the summer. He's made that same face to the kids when they misbehave: stern and strained. It works every time. But this time, only the younger four year old, Haru, fidgeted in his seat. Takumi didn't give into the pressure of his gaze and gave him a sneer.
"We just wanted something apart from her disgusting vegetables," he answers simply, "we've been having them for weeks."
Oikawa's inwardly surprised of this boy's attitude (the difficult type, he concludes) but he doesn't let that show through, leaning even closer to them. Takumi didn't blink. Haru is near to collapse.
"Well a big boy's gotta eat his vegetables - "
" - don't patronize me."
"Oikawa," Fukui's grim tone freezes him on his seat, who can barely hear him from the front door after Iwaizumi had left, "stop picking on the kids."
"But - but -!!" Oikawa sputters, because why is she taking their side?! Weren't they the ones who gave her those restless nights and stress? Unbelievable...
When the door closes, Fukui shifts her attention back to Oikawa to expect for his answer. A coherent one. Haru is unsettled by the conversation unraveling between the two, while Takumi couldn't give any less of a shit and continued eating his omurice.
