'Hello!' i hugged Vyom as he opened the door for me.
'Mummaa!' he hugged me back and as usual, quickly took the tiffin from my shoulder.
'How was your day?' i asked him.
'Good! how was yours?' he asked me back.
'It was hectic, but good.' I smiled at him. My shoulders and arms had already called off. Three back to back surgeries had made me so tired, that I couldn't even move.
'Vyomie, get me a glass of water na, please!' I asked him.
He rushed towards the kitchen and I looked around the house. While my one kid was inside the kitchen, I longed for my another one.
'Tia?' I called out her name as I hung my coat and kept my stethoscope in the drawer.
There was no reply. 'Tia?' I called out again. no response. This is strange. I usually do not have to call her twice. She responds at a single call. was she not at home? no no, she would've informed me if she were leaving. I got up and leaned on my right to look at her door only to find that it was closed.
Meanwhile Vyom came out of the kitchen with a glass of water.
'Thank you baby! where's Tia didi?' I asked him.
'She is in her room. She was talking to one of her friends over call some time ago...' he shrugged.
'Ohh...but why is the door of her room closed?' I asked.
He looked around the house, as if making sure no one is listening, and then asked me to come closer. I raised my brows. 'I have something to tell you.' he whispered.
I went down on my knees and he lowered his voice as if discussing something major 'I heard her talking about today's date which she went on, with someone after school... she left with Samarth Bhaiya, but then I think she went to meet someone else.' he narrated and I was smiling in my head.
'Why do you think she met someone else after leaving with Samarth Bhaiya?' I asked him.
'Because,' he started 'she was blushing and smiling while she described him. she said like, he's so cute and stuff like that. and she couldn't be talking about Samarth Bhaiya, because they both are just friends. so this boy is someone else' he answered. Realizing that this conversation is going to take a long turn, I sat on my knees.
'When she caught me peeping into the room and hearing, she shouted at me and closed the door.' I smiled and leaned closer to take him in my arms.
'Oooh..' I whispered 'what all did you hear? tell me na!'
He passed me a wicked smile and asked 'gossip?'
'Yeah!' I laughed a little and sat on the sofa with him.
'Listen...' he said 'don't tell her I told you about all this.'
'Okay done!' i whispered him back and gave him a high five.
'i couldn't hear much but she said that she went to Bholenath's chaat house with him, and then they had lot of fun, i could also hear something like...that guy also called didi a kitten and didi started smiling..' he lowered his tone 'Mumma, she is going out with boys...do you know what it means?'
His expressions made me laugh. My son was the best gossip I could ever have! sons are generally more close to their mothers when it comes to gossiping, and with this little munchkin, I needed nothing more!
'What does it mean?' I asked him back.
'It means...' he looked at Tia's room again, to confirm that she's not listening 'It means...she has a boyfriend! she goes out with him, on his activa, and roams here and there! She's lying to you and dad.'
