The pups bring the strange object back to their tower and place it in the lab to learn more about it. As they set it down, a weird humming noise starts to fill the room.

Chase: "Whoa. What's it doing?"

Rocky: "Hmm. I don't know, surprisingly."

Ryder: "Be careful, pups. It might be dangerous."

Liberty: "This thing is about to go crazy."

After a moment, the humming stops, and a distorted, mysterious voice emerges from the object.

Mysterious Voice: "Well, well. If it isn't the Paw Patrol. I do hope you're ready for what's about to happen. Hahaha."

Everyone is taken by surprise, and the voice instills a sense of dread.

Zuma: "Um, uh, Ryder, what's happening?"

Ryder: "I don't know, Zuma."

Mysterious Voice: "Aww, is little Zuma worried? Haha, it's fun seeing the personality of someone draining away. Haha."

Zuma cowers in fear, knowing the voice is mocking him. Liberty notices and steps forward to comfort and shield him.

Liberty (while comforting Zuma): "Ryder, we need to get some information from this thing. It knows who we are and is most likely dangerous."

Ryder, now visibly upset, addresses the voice.

Ryder: "Now listen here. You will not scare my pups in any way. I know you can hear me. Who are you?"

Mysterious Voice: cackles "That's where you're weak, Ryder. You'd do anything for your pups, even if it means... dying for them. Hmm?"

The voice grows darker, sending chills through the team.

Ryder: "I will do anything for my pups!"

The pups watch anxiously, they've never seen Ryder this angry.

Ryder: "Who are you? Tell me right now!"

Mysterious Voice: "Well, that's classified. But you should know two simple words: Tick Tock."

Suddenly, a timer appears on the object, counting down from five.

Mysterious Voice: "I'll be seeing you soon, Paw Patrol. Hahaha."

Ryder's instincts kick in.

Ryder: "PUPS, RUN!"

The countdown ticks down:

3... 2... 1... 0.

When the timer hits zero, the object emits a massive electrical surge before imploding. The shockwave sends everyone flying, knocking them to the ground. As the dust settles, the object is gone, leaving behind a burn mark on the floor with the word "SCORPIO" seared into it. The pups slowly recover, but Marshall falls again, whimpering. Everest rushes to his side.

Marshall: "Owie! Ow." whimpers

Everest: "Marshall! No! Are you okay? Please be okay!"

Chase limps over to his best friend, fighting through his own pain.

Chase: "Mmm, ah! Marshall, you'll be, oof, fine, ah."

Skye notices Chase's limp and hurries to him.

Skye: "Chase! Oh no! Are you okay?"

Chase brushes her off, his voice filled with uncharacteristic anger.

Chase: "I'm fine. Don't worry, like you always do. My best friend is hurt. Let me be."

Marshall: "Oww! Chase! I can't move my leg!"

Chase: "Marshall, call your scanner from your pup pack."

Chase's voice is unusually stern, startling Skye.

Marshall: winces "Ru-ruff, ow, sca-ah! Scanner!"

Marshall's scanner activates, and Chase examines his legs, finding the issue.

Chase: "Oh no. Your left back leg is broken, Marshall."

Marshall: "Owww! Well, do something! Anything! It hurts so much, ahhh!"

Everest: "Calm down, Marshall. Calm down! You'll be okay. You have to be!"

Ryder emerges from the dust cloud, holding his injured arm.

Ryder: "Pups! Is every—ah, one okay?"

Chase: "Marshall's hurt! I swear, I'll rip that evil person behind the voice to shreds! How could he hurt my best friend—the one who's always been there for me? I-I-I..." growls

The pups stare in shock at Chase's growl. Skye, especially, is stunned by his reaction. Liberty, coughing, looks around and notices Zuma lying unconscious in front of her. She realizes he shielded her from the shockwave.

Liberty: "Oh. My. God. ZUMA!"

The others rush to her as she kneels beside Zuma, who is panting and whimpering in pain.

Rocky: "Zuma! No!"

Rocky runs to his friend and cradles him. Zuma tries to speak through labored breaths.

Zuma: "Ro-ck-y. Ple-as-e he-he-lp, m-m-me. I-it huw-ts."

Rocky: "Zuma, I—I don't know how."

Zuma passes out, but he's still breathing.

Ryder: "Pups, we need to let Zuma and Marshall recover. The investigation has to wait."

Chase's anger boils over.

Chase: "Wait? WAIT? This horrible, absolutely horrible person needs to be taken down now! My best friend is hurt! My team is in shambles! And I am so angry right now! No one hurts my friends—absolutely no one—and gets away with it!"

Ryder: "Chase! You need to calm down right this instant! I know you're hurting—we all are—but you need to be a leader. There's a reason I picked you to be the lead pup."

Chase: snapping back "Then maybe you shouldn't have..."

Chase storms off, leaving everyone stunned. Skye, heartbroken, knows Chase needs space to process everything. She glances at the burn mark.

Skye: "Ryder, what does Scorpio mean?"

Ryder: "Really, Skye? Now's not the—wait, what? Scorpio? Where?"

Skye points to the scorched letters.

Ryder: "Hmm. I don't know, Skye. I'll have to research it. For now, Rocky and Everest, take Marshall and Zuma to the medical bay. The rest of us need to regroup."

As Ryder contemplates, he's left with one question: is "Scorpio" a clue, or something far worse?
