A/n: Base off of Race to The Edge Season 4, Episode 6 : Dire Straits
One of the longer chapters, enjoy. It had been a weeks since Hiccup and his friends had spoken to Y/n and Liu. They saw them a few days ago at Spitelouts supplies shed off Berk celebration. Hiccup learned they were staying on Berk from his father. Ares had been travel to and from Berk from what Stoick had told him. Salem, Ashaw, and Cherry had been visiting as well, but not as frequent.
Even more shocking though was hearing how Gobber had someone aidding him in the blacksmith, and she moved to Berk with Y/n and Liu. She wasn't the only one as another young girl moved in with them. Hiccup considered visiting them, to see who they were, but he didn't know if he could take the silence from Y/n or Liu.
Hiccup sighed quietly, staring out to sea with longing. She was so close, but felt so far away. Shaking his head, he started walking to try and take his mind off her. Since he's seen her, he was able to get somewhat close to Snoutlout realizing they weren't all too different. Getting the summons from Mala about the dragon hunters, and finding Dagur. His consistent attacks on Vigo and his fleets. Hiccup was thankful for those distractions.
Toothless rumbled and nudged Hiccup lightly. Hiccup looked over to his dragon and smiled lightly. He knew he'd always have Toothless. No matter what.
"Hiccup! Hiccup!" Fishlegs called from upon Meatlugs back. "I have got to show you something."
Hiccup grinned lightly and mounted Toothless before following Fishlegs. When Fishlegs started to blow into his whistle, the Night Terrors started flying in a formation to create a dragon. Hiccup stared in awe.
"Nice work, Fishlegs."
"Thank you! I discovered that Night Terrors response quiet nicely to whistled commands," Fishlegs was grinning from ear to ear.
Blowing into the whistle once more, they formed yet another shape.
"Hey, impressive," Hiccup grinned.
"Oh, that's a new formation," Fishlegs commented putting the whistle away. "Nice Rumblehorn you guys."
Hiccup narrowed his eyes slightly realizing it wasn't the Night Terrors. Toothless seemed to have noticed as well.
"Uh, that's no formation Fishlegs," Hiccup muttered.
It took only a second for the to realize it was Stoick riding upon Skullcrusher. His voice was unmistakable as he yelled at the Night Terrors. Hiccup and Fishlegs shared a look before gazing back to Stoick. Greeting one another, they took to discussing matters in Hiccup's hut. What they heard was a shock.
"And no trading ships have come to Berk in weeks?" Hiccup asked, making sure he heard right. "Well, outside of Ares who had offered to share his food and supplies by flying them out to Berk."
Atlas may have stirred a little bit of worry about what they learned about Ares, but right now it seemed Ares was trust worthy.
"And no sign of Trader Johann either," Stoick stated.
The worry was understandable. Without trades, Berk wouldn't be able to flourish as well as it could. Without trades would also mean less food. Even if Ares was sharing what he had, the worry of it not being enough hung heavy.
"Strange..," Fishlegs had went into thought.
"We've sent scouting boats to the Straits of Baldor to investigate, but none have returned," Stoick spoke grimly.
Hiccup tried to think of what could have caused this, but Fishlegs answer seemed to have matched his thoughts.
"That route has been know to be a hotbed for Scauldrons," Fishlegs commented.
