A/n: Hey, this chapter is based off of another episode, but it is rewritten. Based off of Race To The Edge, Season 5; Episode 2: Sandbusted.
I say rewrite as I know a hunk of this was dedicated to Hiccup and Astrid trying to find betrothal gifts for the other, and I'm not about to just to a whole remake with having Liu stand in Hiccup's stead. That's lazy, so we're getting the rewrite.Salem and Ashaw were furious and distressed after hearing what happened to Y/n. Everyone was hurting. Even so, Salem and Ashaw helped the riders in trying to save The Edge. It was Cherry who eased everyone into remembering if she was gone, then they shouldn't mourn, but celebrate the life she had with them. It wasn't easy, but it did ease their hearts as the first month passed.
Hope sparked the second month. Sharp showed up with a letter, one they recognized was written in Y/n's hand. Although when Daymos, Ares, Liu and Hiccup tried using Sharp to find Y/n, they ended up empty handed every time. The idea that Y/n wanted to be left alone was apparent when they found one of her camps with a note assuring she was fine.
Within that same month, Cherry brought Blythe to the island so they had a permanent healer at The Edge, or until y/n came back. It didn't take Blythe long to get adjusted, but needless to say, she wasn't too different from Gothi when it came to that 'gentle hand' healers have. Snoutlout and the twins learned quick, unless it was serious to not bother her. Splinters or minor cuts and bruises weren't meant in kind. Even with Cherry trying to correct the behavior, Blythe hadn't budged on it.
When the third month rolled in, Daymos and Ares had put their energy into supplying The Edge with supplies as they kept eyes out for Y/n and various threats. With Malani, Odysseus, and Addily doing runs with them, they covered a larger amount of ground. As a result, they did ended up finding something.
The news Malani had given those on The Edge when they were making the decision to leave, had them hesitated on the idea as they knew they had to save The Edge and deal with the new rising threat. Hunters. Daymos had been incredibly helpful with it came to saving Garth when the hunters left him for dead. Even more so when it came to the rebuilding of The Edge as they prepared for their next steps.

Y/n took a shaky breath as she let the air catch up with her. She started at the bread she had as she recalled what got her here. It took her nearly a month to escape the underground volcano enduring the worst with nothing but dried fruit Daymos must've packed in Sharp's bag. That and what she had in D/n's saddle bag. The rations seemed to shrink faster when Viggo woke.
Viggo did take advantage of Y/n and her dragons by using her as bait to flee The Edge undetected. The dragons were tired and wary, not trusting themselves for a clear shot. When they ended up on an island nearly a two day flight away, the dragons had been too tired to hardly stand.
When they landed, her and Viggo had a very long talk. One that had her questioning on returning. 'Do you really want to continue being a slave to those around you?' Y/n hadn't let those words go. They rang in her head loudly. When Viggo offered her a position with him, Y/n demanded he leaved, threatening him with her bow.
Ever since, Y/n had been traveling alone with D/n after sending Sharp away with a message letting everyone know she was alive. Sighing, Y/n heading into the trees finding D/n sitting upon a branch, almost owl like. When he noticed her, he jumped down and sniffed the bread. Y/n torn it in half to share. Staring at the bread in hand, Y/n picked it apart to eat it.
She didn't steal. On the contrary, she was running when she caught sight of Lillian and Xavier. She wasn't sure why they were here, and she hoped they'd be on their way soon. Regardless of how dangerous this place was, it was a good place to shop, sell, and avoid the slave trades, or Y/n hoped that still remained the case after seeing Lillian and Xavier.
