"Daymos, you have a letter from Ares," a feminine voice sounded holding the letter as the large nightfury sat behind her. "It came in while you were gathering herbs."
Daymos silently collected it and once he read it over, he felt his emotions swirling inside him, but his face had kept perfectly still.
"Set sail to Iris Bay. Let Lillian know I'll be late tending to business in Berk," Daymos folded the letter and tucked it away. "And I recommend you all look after each other."
"Yes sir."
Daymos moved and mounted Sharp. The nightfury rumbled and took the lead. The sun was still high in the sky, but Daymos knew better. It was later than it was. Holidays or Midnight sun was when the trades were shut down and all gathered to Iris Bay. It was a place of gathering for the trade ships and were they all reported to Lillian. Daymos knew him leave was going to come back and bite him, but hearing that Y/n was requesting help had him put all matters aside.

Y/n and Astrid sat in the room with D/n, waiting for help. Wether from Daymos or the Defenders of The Wing.
"Who is Daymos?"
Y/n blinked and glanced to Astrid. Y/n leaned back to think. It wasn't an easy question to answer, especially when every different answer was valid, dispite how opposite they were.
"I know some will say cruel. Cold. Unforgiving. Brutal. A monster among men," Y/n chuckled a little at that one. "But to me, he is complex. Holds layers that run deep. Hard on those around him, but he does care for his people. Death goes to those who aren't his, and who don't listen. Killed two men when I was going to be interrogated, if only because they weren't really bring me to him but rather away to have me alone."
Y/n paused thinking of how Daymos had taken her virginity to get her talk after. Apart of Y/n was still upset about it, but another part was thankful he had. If he hadn't, the other forceful encounters would have been far worse. At the very least, Y/n knew he never finished and he wasn't as harsh as the others. Only kept her pinned, and didn't lay a hand on her otherwise like the others had.
"Daymos keeps his people close and his enemies closer. Plays his hand close. He did what he wanted. Did what he thought he needed, but did as told," Y/n shifted and reached gentle over to D/n, stroking his feathered wing. "But I think the only thing you need to know, because he is important to the Berkins, is that what he does is for Berk. I don't know the details of the contract, or what had happened, but him staying with the trades as a servant for life keeps Berks out of the system as long as they don't interfere with them."
Astrid stared at Y/n as she gently brushed her knuckles over D/n's wing. Unsure of how to feel, much less take the information, Astrid guess she'd find out how to feel when she met Daymos herself. Seeing this window of opportunity though, Astrid decided to ask Y/n another question.
"Why'd break my weapons when we were kids?"
Y/n chuckled and looked back to Astrid.
"I was trying to find a way for you and Hiccup to talk. He had such a big crush on you, I wanted to nudge you guys closer together," Y/n shrugged, a small smile on her face. "Speaking of, how close have you two gotten?"
Astrid's eyes grew before she looked away.
"We tried, but losing you and Liu made it harder when that became all we worried about for years," Astrid answered slowly, noticing how Y/n's face fell. "We took a break and haven't been more than friends holding the other up. Hiccup was devastated when you were gone. He didn't give up on you guys til I had him stop. I felt he was only hurting himself."
