Tanned fingers would pop the knuckles on each hand, an instinctive habit she had picked up to do whenever she got nervous. Today was sports day. Last year, she hadn't even been attending the school when it had happened, joining the student roster quite a while later, during the club day. This year, being competitive, she had to compete! That wasn't the only thing she was doing there today, being student council. That's why she was already here, watching as her fellow classmates approached the area.
She was dressed for sports too, a light grey tank top covering her torso and running shorts, the scars that covered her arms and legs all on display. It was quite cold out, as it was early morning, but she didn't quite mind. Or, well, it didn't look like she minded, a blank expression on her face.
It was finally time for the students to gather at the running track. Simple expression were visible from afar and it was easy to differentiate the feelings and attitudes of the fairies; some were overjoyed, prepared and yet some were... The colorful bird expanded its emerald colored wings and flew down amongst the students, catching their attention. The feathered-winged creature spanned its wings out, covering the sun showing off a shadow figure of its anatomy. The bird dove down, accelerating towards the ground which resulted in a painful crash, with its body laying there in a crooked shape.
Occasionally, she'd do her student council duties, suggesting to passing by fae to join the competitive clubs. However, her attention would be quickly snatched away from that when she heard a loud thud, and when she looked in the direction it came from, she saw a bird in.. quite the painful seeming position. Eyes widening, she'd run over from where she was, arriving to where the colorful bird was in an instant. "What the.."
The Quetzal shook their head after waking up from a minor concussion. And upon realization, the bird had received some help from a kind fairy. "Woah! That hurt a lot, thank you for helping kind fairy!" The Quetzal replied, shakings its wings.Skye would blink as she watched the bird spring right back up and then.. speak?!? She knew some nature fairies could understand animals, but why could she understand the bird?? It wasn't the most strange thing she's ever seen, but still odd.
Whatever, she had things to do. Letting out a sigh, she'd spin around and walk over to where she had originally been standing.
"Ok everyone, that is your groups! Discuss within your groups who will be in each place of 1,2,3 and 4. If you have a 5th member, you choose someone to opt out!"
For the past while, she had gotten a few random fairies she didn't know to sign up. That's when she heard that the actual competition was starting. A grin coming to her face, she put her hips, ready to run. Or fly, or whatever they were doing. She knew she wasn't the fastest student in the school, but she was still pretty fast, and had a natural advantage being a wind fairy.

Her group had discussed with each other, deciding their places. Yawning, Skye would go to lane 6, the last lane, the first runner. She was the fastest out of them, so it made sense for her to be the one to start them off.Skye often went out on runs whenever she woke up in the early morning, which she always did, so she knew how to at least prepare herself. She'd do the stretches she usually did, glancing at the other starters.
The Quetzal would flap its wings and placed itself atop of a metal lamp right at the track. Its head went in an up and down motion, counting if every fairy is in their correct positions. "You fairies all know how to play this... right!?! Oh well, I'm pretty sure you all do anyways. And without further ado... I will pluck my own feather and as soon as it hits the ground, the 'anchors' may begin to run! Keep a close eye fairies..." The Queztal would pluck one of its white feathers and it would dance in a spiral as it began to float towards the ground...
Spinning the baton, she'd watch the feather. As soon as it hit the ground, she would begin to run across the track, towards the next fairy on her team. Soon, she'd reach the next fae, handing it off to them.
Breko snatched the baton from her grasp, taking off immediately upon grip. He shouted a thanks towards her, sprinting towards the next contest as quickly as his thighs would reach, passing the figure to Silvia.
After getting the baton, she ran. However, something happened as she ran. With the other contestants, a line of fire suddenly appeared. The smell of.. gasoline? And a match? This held back other competitors. The line surged with bursts of flames and stopped once Silvia eventually reached Mateo.
As Silvia passed him the baton, Mateo immediately broke out into a sprint, using all his speed. For a wind fairy, he was surprisingly fast, his arms and legs running in sync. Even so, the others fairies who were last to receive the baton were close to catching up. It was inevitable for them not to. A tight grip was wrapped around the neon colored baton, careful as to not drop it. Despite that, Mateo continued running, his mind focused on other things such as if the mascot was edible.
Mateo soon reached the end, halting to an abrupt stop the moment his foot crossed the finish line. Though he almost tripped at the end, Mateo still made it. Heavy pants escaped his lips as Mateo planted the palms of his hands onto his knees, bending his back.Skye watched in shock as one of her teammates set a line of fire across the track, preventing the other runners. What the hell??? Did she intend on getting them disqualified??? Her jaw was dropped, face twisted with horror.
The Queztal landed itself after near the finish line and tucked its wings in itself with a little shake. "Great work fairies! I will announce the winners at the end of the day but we have many more activities to do still! Everyone go take a break. I suggest go washing yourselves 'cause you are all now so sweaty..."
Sighing, she'd put a hand on her hips, still absolutely baffled at the actions of her teammate. She was quite sweaty, so she turned to the bathrooms, walking off over there. Summoning a breeze to cool herself off on the way, she considered her options between showering or just freshening herself up.◦⁀➷☆
The rest of the day passed with a breeze. Not much happened.. Though, she was still concerned about the fire-setting girl on that team. She didn't know who won. Didn't care, as she was too exhausted by all the interaction she had to do throughout the day.
