Skye landed onto the soft ground that lined the georgian houses, a bit of dust and grime and little tiny rocks flinging away due to her wings. She slowly closed them, plucking a loose feather with a wince before letting her wings disappear from visibility.
Her grip on the handle of her small bag which hold a few days worth of clothes, and a few things from her dorm. The girl hadn't gone back to visit her house ever since early last freshmen year, spending her summer in another part of Eaferion.
The fae ached to see her father, but more importantly her dog. Her best friend for life. She quickly hurried to her house, which she could instantly spot. Bits of the road chipped off from the pressure she was putting on it's old self. It *seriously* needed to be redone.
The wind fairy skidded to a stop at her door, clearing her throat by pounding her gloved hand on her chest before pulling down the little string that triggered a little chime-A fancier doorbell.
A few moments passed, her heart becoming increasingly fast with each passing one. As she waited, she took the time to look around at the newly decorated porch.
Of course it had changed while she was gone. The wooden flooring was changed to a brighter white color, flowing lines of gold running from side to side. Silver gleaming wind chimes were hung on the left of the door, a soothing quiet sound emitting from them every dozen or so seconds.
Finally the door swiftly opened, a beaming familiar face stood at the frame.

Skye jumped into her fathers cold arms, her bag dropping to the hard wooden floor with a small thud. She buried her head into his shoulder, a strangled cry of happiness could be heard. "Dad!"
The man stumbled back a bit before wrapping his arms around the fae tightly, giving her a reassuring squeeze before pulling away, a smile that was a mix of millions emotions plastered onto his face.
She let out a shaky laugh, wiping a tear that had escaped her eyes with her sleeves. Only until then did she truly realized how relieved and sad she would be to finally see her father again. Not like she hadn't talked to him all this time, she talked to him almost every other day. Yet it felt so much better to speak to him face to face.
The damsel opened her mouth to say something, but was quickly cut off by the ruckus of barking that was slowly becoming louder and louder. It also sounded like it was approaching. Her eyes widened as her brain processed what the sound was coming from. "BREEZE!"
Her father stepped to the side, allowing her to sprint to the hallway without interruption. Breeze was quickly spotted as he flew out a door, his head bobbing up and down as it usually did.
Although the wind fairy could manage her tears for her father, although barely, she couldn't help but allow a few droplets of water slip from her eyes as the fluffy dog flew straight into her arms, licking her face up and down, snuggling his warm self against her chest.
She laughed, and not the "Ha-Ha" kind of laugh. The kind of laugh that you can't explain. You're just so happy, sad, relieved, and stupid you can't describe it. "I.. I missed you too, bud."
