Apology.

Skye knocked on the door softly, nervously biting the inside of her cheek as she did. Some of the guards positioned at the entrance of the apartment complex had kicked her off the premises when she attempted to enter before, so she had to sneak by them to get to the door.

Her legs trembled as she waited. She already probably knew the outcome of this attempted apology. Getting yelled at, insults, maybe even violence. All of it was deserved of course, or so she convinced herself. A few minutes passed before the door began to creep open, then open completely.

There stood previously one of her best friends, someone who she cares about with her whole heart, and now someone who hated her guts. Anger flashed across Miles face as he attempted to slam the door in her face. However, Skye had fast reflexes, so she stopped it with her hand. Her small smile fell as Miles angerly asked the question she knew was coming for ages but still wasn't ready for. "What are you doing here, you insane freak?!"

Skye stumbled a few steps back, now struggling to hold the door open. "I.. I uhm.." She rubbed the back of her neck nervously, the words affecting her deeply. She was called a freak openly often, however being called one by someone you've opened your feelings to is a much different feeling.

"Spit it out!" He gave the door another shove, and almost closed it on her. She debated in her mind whether to keep on trying to talk to him. He clearly hated her, clearly wanted nothing to do with her and her disgusting self. Her disgusting innocent person stabbing pain enjoying self. She winced at her own insults.. or Miles's supposed thoughts.

Skye slowly opened it again, looking down at her shoes as she spoke. Guilt had already filled her mind by then, and that made it hard to speak. "I-" She took a deep breath before continuing. "..I came here to apologize."

Miles burst out laughing, not stopping until he noticed the expression on her face. He raised his eyebrow suspiciously, obviously he didn't trust her. Why would he? "Oh, you're serious? You aren't here to ' finish the job ' or something?"

"I-I came unarmed, I swear!" She raised her hands, her dagger shockingly absent from her side. She normally never felt safe without something to protect herself, and she hadn't gone out without a dagger in years, but if it made Miles feel better she would gladly put her safety out of mind. She was obviously terrified, of course. She had came somewhere where bodyguards were, and she hadn't brought anything to defend herself.

He rolled his eyes. "Suuuuuure. What are you gonna say? ' Sorry for plunging a knife into your flesh!' Nothing you can say will ever make me forgi.." He trailed off, looking away.

"Please.. just let me talk okay?" Skye shivered, the cold night wind flowing by. Stopping by at 12 AM in the night probably wasn't the best decision. And wearing a pleated skirt, a pair of shorts, and a t-shirt wasn't the best either. She rubbed her wrists nervously, looking away.

Miles sighed, sighing as he stepped aside to allow her in. Her eyes lit up as he did, the irrational part of her brain trying to convince herself that she was still trusted, although only smally.

She stepped inside, still in awe of the huge mansion. She punched herself slightly, snapping herself out of it. Now was not the time to stare at decoration. Miles led her over to a sitting area, sitting down quickly. "Just so you know, I have bodyguards watching."

Skye nodded shakily, she knew it made him feel safe. But she felt scared out of her mind. She stood across from him, fiddling with her skirt. "Okay.." She took a deep breath, preparing to apologize.

"I know you have every right to have your bodyguards attack me - or you yell at me or hurl insults my way. You can do any of those things, I wont say anything, I know it's deserved. I don't know why I an Hibiscus did what we did, we let our emotions cloud our logic. I-I know you hate me." She rambled, her voice starting to break. "I-I just want you to know I care a lot about you, and I always will. And I'm really really really sorry. You were one of my first friends, and were one of my best friends for a period of time. And I didn't mean to hurt you, I just let my bottled up emotions get the better of me." Skye finally finished, covering her face as tears began to form.

Minutes passed as she waited for the response, shifting uncomfortably as she stared down at her feet. Her apology was probably shit. He probably still hated her.

"I forgive you." Miles smiled, standing. As soon as the words left his lips her head shot up, her eyes sparkling.

"R-Really?" Skye sniffled and ran over, hugging him tightly.

"-!" He stumbled back a bit as Skye hugged him. However, he hugged her back. She was strong though, and soon he felt like he was unable to breath. "Too tight!"

Skye quickly backed away, giggling softly. "Sorry.. and thank you. I know you still don't trust me, and it will take a while to earn trust back. But.. thank you." Miles smiled. He really didn't want to forgive Skye. Skye hugged him again before pulling away.

"I'll be going now.. and once again, thank you." Skye smiled gently, turning. She spread her wings and flew out the open door. Her mind exploded with relief and her guilt subsided, but she would forever feel guilty, albeit slightly. Forever be known as an insane freak who stabbed an innocent fairy.
