The night was always calming to me. It was just peaceful, just staring out into the night sky. The beauty of the stars and the moon was just so relaxing.
It was early in the morning, and I found I just couldn't sleep. I had too much on my mind.
I am now an engaged woman and there is just so much to think about. All about the wedding.
I was going to get married to Bruno! What an exciting thought! I was so excited by the thought of being his wife, but it brought up so much to think about.
When should we get married? This year? Next year? What month should the wedding be?
What about the theme? The colors? What about my bouquet?
The only thing Bruno and I had decided about the wedding was we would be the last. Julieta and Pepa have already been engaged before us, so it's only right for them to have their weddings first.
Julieta's wedding will be this spring, just a few months from now. She was having Pepa as her maid of honor and I will be her bridesmaid. This was matched by Felix and Bruno's position with Agustin.
Pepa decided on a summer wedding in January. I am going to be the Maid of honor, and Bruno will be the Best Man.
We had decided to have our wedding in March of the following year. This will allow the girls to focus on their weddings and gave us plenty of time to work on ours after Pepa's wedding.
I had already asked Julieta to be my matron of honor and Agustin will be Bruno's Best Man.
This was all we had figured out. From the moment I began talking about proposing to Bruno. Pepa and Julieta dragged me to Pepa's room, and we had all of this talked out.
That way each of us would have the chance to be a maid/matron of honor. I later found out that Bruno had the same conversation with Felix and Agustin before either of us had proposed.
I guess Agustin had been the one to bring it up, because nobody was aware that Bruno wanted to propose. Agustin talked to him a day or two after he proposed to Julieta.
Apparently, Felix and Agustin decided that Bruno and I were a perfect couple so we had to get married.
I decided to take a walk, so I grabbed a jacket to keep the early morning chill away. A thought crossed my mind suddenly, and I decided to grab a blanket as well. With a destination in mind, I left my apartment. I had stayed there last night to finish up on some bath supplies.
I quietly made my way through the town. The soft predawn light casts its glow upon the Encanto.
It was breathtaking. The stars were slightly visible in the darker parts of the morning sky.
I walked through the village and towards the hilltop.
The same one Bruno had taken me to watch the sunset. In all the time I've been alive, I've never seen the sunrise.
Usually, if I am up this early, I am already drinking some coffee and starting to work in my workshop in the basement.
I decided today was the day I'll see my first sunrise.
I slowed when I heard footsteps. Curious, I turned around. I smiled when I saw who had decided to join me.
"What are you doing out here so early this morning?" I asked.
"I couldn't sleep. My mind is racing." Was the reply as my companion approached. I noticed he also had a blanket with him.
Great minds think alike.
"Same here. I was heading to the hilltop, want to join me?"
"Always." He smiled back as he wrapped his arms around me. I sighed happily as I laid my head in on his shoulder. I giggled lightly as his curls brushed against my cheek.
I could feel him lightly chuckle. We pulled apart and continued our trek, hand in hand.
After a few minutes, we arrived at the hilltop, and Bruno took my blanket and laid it on the ground for us to sit on.
He helped me sit down before sitting beside me. We cuddled up together, wrapped up in the blanket he brought along.
We talked about our thoughts on the wedding, as well as our hopes for the future.
The sun slowly started rising on the other side of the Encanto. The sky was such a beautiful mix of blue, yellow and orange that looked so gorgeous with the mountains.
I was hit with the inspiration of a new candle. I'd call it Romantic sunrise. It will have a yellow layer at the bottom, then a layer of orange, and finally a blue layer at the top.
I turned to my fiance, smiling at the look on his face as he gazed at the view. His eyes turned to me, the soft green glow making me fall even deeper in love with the handsome man beside me.
"I love you." He whispered. I gave him a tender kiss.
"I love you too." I replied.
We had watched the sun make it over the mountains before we stood up. I turned to him and asked if he was busy today. He shook his head.
I told him about my candle idea and asked if he wanted to help me.
We worked together to make mini candles to test the scents. Each candle was about the size of a shot glass.
We let the candles cool for the day, taking notes on which candles were what scents. We spent the rest of the day just talking and spending time together.
After calling his family, Bruno stayed the night with me. We spent most of the next day testing the mini candles as we continued talking about our wedding.
The sunrise was a sweet moment with my sweet fiance, and it inspired me in more ways than just the candles.
Pepa had been talking about wanting candle centerpieces for her wedding. What better way to showcase my new candles than to use them for a Madrigal wedding?
We went to Casita for dinner, and I talked to Pepa about the new candles we were making. I told her Bruno, and I was going to test them tomorrow, but if all should go well, we could bring some samples down next week for her to try out.
When we finished the first batch, we looked over the results. Bruno suggests I make a couple of each of the best candles. We will test each of the larger scale, then give the others to Pepa so she can test them herself.
In the end she chose the one that all three of us like the most, and asked for eight candles for her reception.
Who knew I'd get such great work all from watching a lovely sunrise with my fiance?
