There they are. Bruno and (Y/n). The most talked about couple in the Encanto.

Nearly everyone has something to say about them.

Some people talk about how Bruno is 'bad' luck. They think he has bad luck because of his visions. They worry that his bad luck will rub off on Señorita Y/n.

Señorita Pezmuerto thinks Bruno caused her fish to die. She thinks that Y/n is with him so he doesn't harm her family. I find this ridiculous to say the least.

Bruno wouldn't harm a fly or a fish, let alone a person. The boy hardly fights at all. The only time I've seen him jump into a fight is if it is a woman or a young child being attacked.

Some people think she's caught his bad luck already. She has been around him for years, so they say it happened a long time ago.

I find these people strange. I have my doubts that Bruno has bad luck in the first place. He just seems like a misunderstood man with a difficult gift.

Something that Y/n can see and understand. She helps him, which in turns eases the villagers a little.

She helps him with his gift so his visions aren't quite as bad as they used to be.

Some people were glad they were together. Usually, because his visions aren't so bad anymore, or the fact that Y/n might have had something to do with Bruno not giving as many full visions now.

People can handle their prophecies a lot better when it's just small visions or tarot card readings.

A few people are genuinely happy for the couple. Señor Torres, the jeweler likes Bruno and is glad someone cares about the young man. There's the seamstress too.

Apparently Bruno came into the shop when she was being verbally assaulted by an angry customer, and he stood up for her. She could see the good in him, just like Y/n always could.

She felt grateful to him and always offered to repair his ruanas when they got worn out.

Some people wonder how the pair are together. I just laugh when some of these people speculate he used dark magic to ensnare her.

I am one of the few regular villagers to know the truth about the couple. I've been there for much of their story.

I was there when they were just kids, hanging out in my smoothie shop.

They'd sit at the back table. She would be drinking a strawberry banana smoothie, and he'd have an orange smoothie.

Sometimes they would be writing, doing homework probably. Other times they would be talking quietly to each other.

They always ordered the same drinks, they were their favorites. There would be times only one of them would come in, and they'd order both smoothies to go. I knew they'd be meeting up somewhere enjoying the chilled drinks in the Colombian heat.

I remember one day when it was just Y/n that came into the shop.

(Flashback)

It was a light afternoon that day. I was writing out some new recipes that I wanted to try. I heard the door open and looked up to see Y/n, wearing a pale green dress.

"Buenas tardes Señorita L/n."

"Buenas tardes Señor. The usual por favor."

"Of course. Are you going to visit Bruno?" I had asked as I got out two cups.

"Si, we're working on some telenovelas together."

"Wonderful. I just love the stories the two of you come up with. I can't wait to watch them on tv."

"Gracias Señor. I'll tell him you like the shows. That will make him happy." She smiled. I handed her the smoothies.

"Tell your boyfriend I said hi."

"I will! Have a lovely day!" She replied.

"You too!" I called out as she left my shop.

(End flashback)

I had watched those two as they grew up. It was quite the sight to see.

I was there for a few of their dates, giving them somewhere private to spend time together.

I was also there when they were married, and now that they are expecting their first child.

They liked coming to my shop for smoothies because I use the healthiest ingredients. Pregnant women often come here, so I have made a menu to help them get what they need.

She looks to be about six months along now. I make sure to provide her the list of smoothies that can help with any symptoms she might have.

Bruno is very grateful for my help, as he watches her relax as she enjoys her chosen drink. He sticks with his standard orange and smiles as she tells him about her day with one of the Madrigals.

I smile as I work in the back of my kitchen, cleaning the blender and counter tops. I soak all of the used dishes in hot water as I prepare orders for other customers. My wife goes over to talk to Bruno and Y/n. They share stories of what it is like to have a child, and my wife tells her about having our son.

We know that she can get advice from Pepa and Julieta, now that they have their daughters. However, the more mothers a new Mother can talk to, the better prepared she might feel.

Any mother can tell you that every pregnancy is different and so is every child.

I can tell that they are happy to talk to my wife and Y/n is always happy to see someone who is comfortable around the youngest triplet.

I look forward to seeing those two thrive as parents, and perhaps one day they will bring their children into my shop too.
