It was a couple of months after Y/n proposed to Bruno, and the couple decided to take a break from work and wedding planning.

They had been busy the last few days but hadn't been able to spend much time together that wasn't focused on the wedding.

They were sitting in the living room of her apartment. It was a but hectic at the Casita today. Pepa was more stormy than usual.

They were drinking some lemonade and telling each other stories, just enjoying the peace.

"You know something Y/n? It's been a while since we've had some cupcakes. What do you think?" He asked.

"Sounds delicious mi amor. How about we bake them ourselves. It'll be more fun than going to the bakery. Besides, we've been too busy to just be together. I don't want to have to share you with others just yet."

"Agreed. It's been a while since we've been alone together. Let's do it."

"We can make enough to share with our families too." She said.

"Sounds wonderful. What kind of cupcakes should we make?"

She thought for a few minutes, checking her pantry for ideas.

"How about we make some chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing?" She suggested.

"Works for me. Everyone likes chocolate, so nobody will be left out either." Bruno replied. Y/n smiled softly at her fiance. He was always thinking of others.

Together the pair got out the ingredients and tools, sitting everything on the counter tops.

Y/n measured out each ingredient and Bruno mixed them together. She got the cupcake pans ready, and they poured the mixture into the pans and set them aside until the oven was preheated.

Y/n cleaned up the mess as Bruno put the cupcakes in the oven and set the timer.

"Why don't you call Julieta to let her know we'll handle the dessert for dinner tonight? That way she can just handle dinner. I'll call Mama and let her know too."

While Y/n was on the phone she learned Alma had invited them over to Casita for dinner. She had wanted to discuss wedding plans with Bruno, Y/n and her parents.

Y/n let Bruno know the plans and he said it was easier, and Julieta was already aware of the dinner plans.

"Looks like your Mama is going to be helping Julieta with dinner tonight so my sister has less work to do."

"Good. She deserves a break from standing in front of the oven all day." Y/n agreed.

As the cupcakes baked and cooled the couple made homemade chocolate frosting.

As an added bonus, Bruno suggested making strawberry smoothies to go with the chocolate cupcakes.

"That is a wonderful idea mi vida! Won't they be surprised?" She grinned at Bruno as the couple set to work.

When the engaged couple arrived, both Julieta and Señora L/n thanked them for their thoughtfulness.

Y/n placed her smoothie mix into the fridge to keep it cool until it was time for dessert. The cupcakes were placed onto the counter.

Dinner went well, with the ladies talking mostly about the reception, and making plans to go dress shopping. Bruno and the other guys made plans to get their tuxes on a day where the ladies wouldn't be at the seamstress.

Bruno and Y/n told them their planned wedding date, which was in March of next year. They decided to let the others focus on their weddings before jumping into theirs. They told the family what colors they had chosen for their wedding, Emerald and gold.

Y/n. Alma, and her mother talked about what flowers to use for the bouquet, and the young woman talked about what she was planning to use as her centerpieces.

It had been a long hobby of hers to do stained glass. It was an activity she had done with her mother since she was nine.

"Well, we were thinking about having the reception here, family only. I was just planning on making a couple of stained glass lanterns, decorated in white orchids to symbolize pure love."

"That sounds wonderful mija." Her mother smiled.

By the time the wedding talk was done, everyone was ready for dessert. Bruno and Y/n got up to gather their things.

Bruno distributed the cupcakes while Y/n poured the smoothies then the couple brought them out too.

There were sounds of surprise as the smoothies were passed out.

The atmosphere turned lively as the two families the treats Bruno and Y/n had made.

It was a pleasant evening surrounded by the people they both loved dearly.
