Pampering

I was so excited to receive the package that was sitting on the front step of my shop. I had been eagerly awaiting this specific item. I had been assured last month to be expecting this, and it couldn't have arrived at a better time.

Bruno has been having a tough few days. I can tell that the stress of giving out fortunes is getting to him. Not to mention the glares he still sometime receives.

Things have gotten better for him, but there are still some bad days.

That is why I decided that today, his first day off in two weeks, is going to be a lovely day of pampering for my wonderful husband.

I promptly called the Madrigal house to get things started.

"Buenos Dias, Casa de Madrigal, Julieta speaking."

"Buenos Dias, Julieta, it's Y/n. Is your husband or Felix around? I need them to get Bruno out of the house for a couple of hours."

"Is this what I believe it is?"

"Yep. That's happening today. Do you mind if I take over your kitchen for an hour?"

"Of course not. Go ahead."

"Gracias hermana. We'll be having dinner in his room so don't expect us tonight."

"Okay. Here's Agustin."

"Hola Agustin. Are you and Felix up for keeping my beloved husband busy for a couple of hours away from my shop and Casita this afternoon?"

"Sure, why?"

"Pampering day. He needs it."

"Agreed. We got it."

"Thank you and tell Felix I said thanks."

We hung up and I got to work, preparing everything I was going to take to Casita with me.

I carefully opened the parcel and removed a thick hardback book, and a letter. I gave the letter a curious glance; I hadn't expected it. The envelope had Bruno's name on it, so I left it alone.

I purchased a black box for the gift and placed the book and letter inside. I used a think green ribbon to tie it up and set it inside my basket.

Beside it, I added some groceries I bought for the dinner I wanted to prepare, so I wouldn't be using up Julieta's ingredients. Lastly, I added the body scrub and exfoliating gloves I bought for him.

I glanced outside in time to see Agustin take Bruno into the market and saw Felix glance towards my shop.

I rushed eagerly out the door, quickly locking up. I swiftly made my way to a side street that I strategically planned to use as a quicker route to Casita.

I wasted no time heading up to my husbands tower and hid the present in my dresser. Bruno is too shy to get into my dresser, so the gift will be safe there. I also took the spa stuff out so there was only food and drinks in the basket.

I went down to the kitchen to begin preparing the meal. I opted for a picnic style spread, so that I didn't have to worry about the food and drinks sitting for too long. I just want to focus on Bruno today, not dinner.

I made some pan de bonos for an appetizer and some of my Mama's recipe of arepas on queso for the main dish.

As for desert I chose apple empanadas with a homemade caramel sauce.

The drink I prepared was another family recipe, Coconut limeade. Mama had made it once when Bruno came over. He tried it and fell in love with the drink. Now he asks for a glass whenever we visit my family.

I put everything into the basket and brought everything to the picnic room.

The picnic room is one of two extra rooms by his vision cave. These two rooms are smaller than his vision cave, so he doesn't use them much.

I had found the rooms by accident and felt they both had a tranquil air to them, so I felt it would be perfect for tonight.

I was quick to set up the first for a picnic. As for the second room, I had asked Casita if it could give me a massage table. It provided a table nearly identical to the ones used in the spa. There was also a small table beside the massage table. There was also a small shower where Bruno could rinse off the body scrub.

I set the room up the way I wanted it and placed the things I needed on the small table. I checked the time and smiled. I knew Bruno would be home very soon, so I went ahead made my way to his bedroom.

Several minutes later, Bruno entered the bedroom and smiled when he saw me. He looked a little worn out, all the more reason to pamper him.

I hugged my husband as he beckoned me close, relaxing in my arms. He muttered about how all he wanted was to be with me.

"You've been having such a difficult time for the past couple of weeks, so I've decided that today, I'm going to pamper you. Starting with an exfoliating scrub mi amor." I kissed his cheek.

"You don't have to mi vida. All I need is to be with you." He replied. I smile lovingly at him.

"I know cariño. I want to pamper you." He smiled, and I took his hand, leading him to the room I had prepared. I told him to take his clothes off, but he could keep his boxers on if he wanted.

I waited for him to call me in. When he did, I went inside, seeing him with only the towel draped over him. I opened up the scrub and put on the exfoliating gloves.

I made small talk with him as I gave him the same treatment I got at the spa before our wedding.

It was about an hour later when I sent him over to the shower to rinse off. I told him to put on the robe and meet me by his bathroom.

I prepped the bathtub for him and waited in the hallway. He gave me a loving smile as he walked passed me.

It only took him a minute or two before he called me in.

I see him closing his eyes with a soft, content sigh. He dunked his head to get his hair wet while I reached for his shampoo.

I work the shampoo into a lather, lightly scraping his head as I work the shampoo all the way through his thick locks.

A small moan escapes his mouth, causing me to grin.

"What? Does that feel good?"I asked as I massaged his scalp.

"Mmhmm." He hums, a relaxed smile on his face.

"Your hair is so soft, mi amor. Perhaps I should do this more often." I think out loud.

"I wouldn't complain. It feels amazing..."He sighs, and I chuckle.

I gently massage his scalp for another precious moment before indicating that he should dunk again to rinse. I help him get all the shampoo out before he resurfaces.

"I'm going to get things ready in the bedroom while you finish up here. When you're done, just leave your shirt and ruana off, I'm going to add in your conditioner and give you a back massage after."

"You really want to spoil me today, don't you?" He smiles lightly.

"Sure do!" I laugh.

He joins me five minutes later, and I motion him to sit on the bed in front of me.

I can't help myself as my eyes linger fondly on him as he walks over to me, a mischievous grin on his lovely face.

I spread my fingers in his hair to distribute the leave in conditioner, grazing his scalp like I did with the shampoo. I grin delightedly as he shudders lightly at my gentle touch.

I moved from his head to his slender shoulders, massaging the somewhat tense muscles beneath my hands.

I take my time in each area, gently working out the knots in his neck, back and shoulders. He practically slumps into me by the time I'm finished, panting.

He gazes at me with smouldering eyes, a rosy blush gracing his cheeks.

The appreciative look in his sparkling eyes tells me he has another idea to help us both relax, and I smile back before leaning down for a passionate kiss.

I led him out of our room 45 minutes later.

"I think we're late to dinner." Bruno says as he glances at the clock.

"We're not having dinner with the family. Julieta and Alma already know. I prepared dinner, just for the two of us."

I led him to the room I prepared, and he smiled as he took in the picnic like set-up.

I had laid out our favorite picnic blanket on the floor with the basket in the middle.

We sat down, and I poured our drinks. Bruno's eyes lit up as he saw everything I made.

"You are amazing Y/n. You know that?" Bruno stated after finishing our meal, light conversation dotted throughout.

"I'm not done just yet mi amor." I bestow upon him an affectionate smile.

"There's more?" He inquired, eyes wide. "You've already done so much for me today. What else can there be?"

"Just one last thing, lo prometo." I smiled, escorting him back into the bedroom. He sat down on the bed as I retrieved the box.

I watched as he gave an inquisitive look at the gift I held out to him. He looked up at me, as if asking if this was really for him. I nodded, and he accepted the present.

His eyes widened and he gasped. There were tears in his eyes as he looked at the item inside. He took out the letter, placing it on the bed beside him.

He withdrew the book and just stared at it in shock.

It was a signed behind-the-scenes book of his favorite telenovela, along with a letter from his favorite actor, Hernando Aguilar.

Bruno turned to me in surprise. I smiled sheepishly as I explained.

"As you know, Papa leaves the Encanto every couple of months for the coffee run. He gets our coffee from Señor Perez, whose farm is in Northern Colombia. He produces the most delicious coffee in all of Colombia, so he also sells his coffee beans to prominent people, including most actors. So Señor Perez actually knows Señor Aguilar's agent. I asked you a while back if I could give him a copy of your script remember?"Bruno nods."Well, he told Papa that he loved your script so much... and I might have asked Papa to mention your favorite actor, so... Señor Perez gave your script to the agent..."

Bruno hugs me tightly, and I could feel him trembling slightly.

"Thank you, mi vida. You have no idea what this gift means to me." His voice shook slightly as he spoke.

He opened the letter and read though it. His eyes widened, and he read the letter a second time. Then a third time, before the biggest grin of the night graced his face.

"Hernando says he read my script, and he enjoyed it. He gave it to telenovela director who also enjoyed it! My telenovela might become a real telenovela!!!" He rambled excitedly, standing up, grabbing my hands and pulling me up as well. He lifted me into the air, spinning me joyously.

"I'm so excited! I want to tell the family!!" Bruno exclaimed as he led me out of the tower and to the living room, where the family usually spends the evenings.

Everyone was so happy for him as he told them what I had done for him. Julieta already knew about the book, but neither of us had expected the news Bruno received in the letter.

I spent the rest of the night smiling indulgently at how happy and relaxed my dear husband was.
