Things were finally settling down from introducing the newest Madrigals. Reyna and Pedro were such wonderful babies. Everyone in our families adored them.
It's been four months, and we are now getting them to sleep whole nights here and there.
I smiled as I woke up beside my husband. I got out of the bed and looked at the clock.
I knew the twins will be awake soon. So I took a few minutes for a quick bathroom break, then went to the kitchen. I needed to make the bottles for their first feeding.
By the time I got back to the bedroom, I could hear the twins soft cooing.
I moved the large feeding pillow I got from Alma, to the floor and move over to the cribs.
"Hello my darlings!" I said softly to my babies. Reyna was the first to respond, showing that she was hungry. Pedro smiled as he waved his arms. I laughed softly at their excitement.
I picked my little ones up and laid them on the pillow, talking to them softly as they drank from their bottles.
I told them about what we were going to do today, and how much the family loved them.
"Good morning mi amor." I heard from behind me. I grinned and glanced at Bruno.
"Good morning mi vida. Did we wake you?" I asked. I heard a laugh from behind me as I focused on the children.
"Not at all Sweetheart. Though I'd say this is a great way to wake up. I knew you would make a great Mama." He smiled as he kneeled down beside me.
Reyna had let go of her bottle to reach out for her Papa. Casita moved a burp rag over to him, and he laid it over his shoulder.
Bruno picked her up and settled her on his shoulder, patting her gently to get her to burp.
Pedro didn't take long to finish his bottle after his sister. I burped him while Bruno took Reyna to the changing table to change her diaper. Then he grabbed her a dress to get her ready for the day.
I got Pedro ready and told Bruno the plans for the day.
"Mama and Papa want a visit with the twins for a couple of hours. They haven't gotten to spend as much time with them lately."
"Sounds like a plan. I've got a few house calls to make today, so at least I don't have to worry about you and the twins."
I gave him a worried look. I didn't like it when he had to make house calls. I was always worried about him.
"Please be careful my love." Bruno smiled at me.
"I'll be okay, I promise. The fortunes I have lined up today are simple. None of them will need full visions. All I have is an hourglass vision, a couple of tarot card readings, and a palm reading."
"Just don't let anyone force you into a deeper reading. I remember the business venture reading." I replied, remembering the day I found him crying in our room.
He had house visits, and that last visit was a man wanting to know about a planned business venture. It would turn out that if he took on the business, he would get married, but then he'd get divorced. He'll fall in love again, but she'd already be engaged. The man and his friends ganged up on him and verbally attacked him.
"I know. I'll be okay. I'll let you know how everything goes okay." He replied. I smiled at him, giving him a gentle kiss.
We brought the babies out of the tower, greeting the rest of the family, before Bruno and I took the twins over to my parents house. Papa opened the door as he saw us coming down the road.
I watched as my parents doted on both my babies.
"You look so happy mija." Papa smiled as he had sat with Pedro during tummy time. I sat with Reyna as she did tummy time too.
"I am so happy Papa. I absolutely love these little angels and am thankful for Bruno giving me the chance to be a mother."
"I remember doing this with you mi corazon. You were such a happy baby. Much like Reyna. Always reaching for something. Usually Bruno actually. You were both always close, even as babies. You'd never cry, but you did tear up. You're little lip would just quiver until you could see him. It was so adorable."
"Papa." I groaned, embarrassed but secretly pleased. I liked the fact that Bruno and I have always been close.
As the day went on, I enjoyed watching my parents and brother interacts with my children. Mama absolutely loved walking Pedro around the house, showing him all sort of things.
B/n however, spent most of his time playing with Reyna and telling her silly little stories. He'd grin anytime she cooed at him. He was a really good tio.
We even got to talk as a family while the babies were taking their nap. It was something I haven't been able to do since just after the wedding. Life has just been super busy lately.
Just before sunset, B/n helped me bring the kids home. He made the excuse of spending a little more time with his sobrinos. I appreciated the help, since I knew Bruno would likely be exhausted by the time he finished his work.
Bruno had gotten home just after the twins bath time, and he eagerly took over baby duty. He wanted to tell them a bedtime story.
I took the moment to take a quick shower. I entered our bedroom to find Bruno reading to the twins while their were laying on their bouncers.
He was reading one of his kid friendly stories, which he began working on when he found out I was pregnant.
He would do different voices for each character, and our son was just entranced while listening. Reyna was falling asleep with her pacifier hanging loosely from her mouth.
I smiled at the sight, as I gently took the pacifier and took it to wash it. I was quick to return, so I could help my husband put them in their cribs.
After they had been asleep, I turned to my husband, who was looking worn out. I sat in up against the headboard.
"Today went better than expected. The tarot card readings were very straightforward, and the palm reading was simple enough. Event the hourglass vision was good. Nobody got angry today." He smiled as he laid down in front of me; his head resting on my chest.
"That's good. I'm glad things went well for you today." I told him as I pressed my lips to his forehead.
I told him how our day went, while running my fingers through his soft curls. My husband, sighed happily as he relaxed in my embrace.
It didn't take long for him to move so that we were lying under the covers, holding each other close as we drifted off to sleep.
